Video Games Okami Art School Infomercial

okamiartschool_main.jpgGamers recently noticed that the cover for the Wii version of adventure game Okami contained a watermarked image from gaming site IGN. It must have been an embarrassing discovery for the lazy graphic designers at Capcom, who clearly just pulled their source photos off of Google images.

Well now, the company seems to be having a little fun with the release of the “Okami Art School” infomercial. Aimed at the critics who complain about the difficulty of Okami’s brush strokes, it’s styled after a low budget '80s commercial taped on VHS, complete with the jumps and “Play” message. The best part? If you look at the fine print on the ordering screen at the end, it says “Warning: artwork may contain watermarks!” Watch the video after the jump.

Video Games Inside The Okami Digital Art Gallery

If you’ve ever played Capcom’s critically-acclaimed adventure game Okami, you’ve no doubt noticed the incredible attention to detail in the game’s art. Transporting gamers back to the time of Japanese myth, the game’s unique look was inspired by traditional Ukiyo-e style watercolor and wood carving art.

Finally, Capcom is giving the game’s visuals the attention they deserve with a new website called Okami Art. It hosts an exhaustive collection of characters and scenes that might have passed you by too quickly in the game to appreciate, along with sections for wallpapers and fan art to boot. After the jump, preview some more choice selects from Okami’s art gallery.
