At the start of the year, she was named one of Entertainment Weekly’s “Top 5 Artists to Watch in 2009,” but it’s already September—c’mon SRC/Universal Motown! Where’s Melanie Fiona’s album? The Guyanese honey from the T.Dot had a couple of sleeper hits last summer (”Give It To Me Right” and “Bang, Bang”), and was previously the opening act on the Euro leg of Kanye West’s Glow In The Dark tour. Clearly, the girl got talent.
So even though The Bridge—her debut album that was supposed to drop today—is going nowhere for the moment, we still got love for Miss Fiona.
