N.E.R.D. & Lupe Fiasco Cover Our Aug/Sept Issue!

This year for Complex’s annual “Style & Design” collector’s edition issue, we set out to fuse the worlds of music and art in a way that had never been done. On one cover, we paired N.E.R.D. with KAWS, the graffiti icon-turned-art world darling who also happens to be one of Pharrell’s favorite designers. And on the other cover, Lupe Fiasco teamed up with another graf God—Todd “REAS” James—to create an outrageous image of the Chi-Town superstar sitting on the sun.

In addition to the covers, KAWS and REAS painted over even more photos of the musicians for the features inside the book. N.E.R.D., Kanye, Lupe & Pusha Remix “Everyone Nose”

Apparently, the secret is out: club-hopping women love cocaine. In case you hadn’t noticed all the girls standing in the line for the bathroom, Pharrell, Chad and Shay’s recent single “Everyone Nose” has put the phenomenon on blast. Now, the song—which is the lead single from N.E.R.D.’s third album Seeing Sounds—has been remixed with a new beat and verses from the rest of the CRS supergroup (Lupe and Kanye), along with Clipse’s Pusha T. Lupe Fiasco Connects With UK Rapper Sway

Fresh off the release of his “Paris, Tokyo” video, Fresh Cool Young Lu sits down for an interview in the London New Era store with Sway, who proclaims himself “the UK’s #1 rapper” (which is a little suspect, considering he also calls Lupe “The World’s #1 Rapper”). In the video, which was filmed as part of MySpace’s Artist on Artist series, they talk about the state of the CRS supergroup, the future of 1st & 15th and the possibility of Lupe doing a record with Lil Wayne. Lupe Fiasco x Product [RED] Converse

About a month ago, Supertouch blogged about Dr. Romanelli’s 1Hund[RED] Artists shoe launch with Converse out in LA. Romanelli’s #1 fan Lupe Fiasco was there to provide the entertainment, and there was a quick internet blip mentioning his shoes: patent leather Chucks built under the Product [RED] platform. We got our hands on a pair, and although they’re not scheduled to release, enough buzz could bring ‘em into the marketplace. Get those comments going, and get these shits made! A scene-stealing verse on Kanye West’s “Touch The Sky,” a buzzworthy Farenheit 1st & 15th mixtape series, and a notable summer jam about skate life—Lupe Fiasco had the beginnings of a great hip-hop career. That is, until his album release date for Food & Liquor got “Kick, Push”-ed back further and further from earlier this year.
