Wake N' Watch Wake N’ Watch: Lil Scrappy f/ Ludacris ‘Addicted To Money’

Believe it or not, Lil Scrappy has been around for a while, but his years in the game have been met with a fair amount of drama. From being stabbed and hit with felony weapon and drug possession charges last year to the general label fuckery he dealt with between BME and G-Unit, his ride has been anything but smooth, but things are turning around. Now he’s signed to Ludacris’s Disturbing Tha Peace imprint with an album, Tha Grustle, on the way later this year. This is the rapper’s first single under the new partnership, and of course, it features the Ludameister himself. Scrappy’s career might be more stable these days, but does he have the hits to make all the shifting around worthwhile? Check out “Addicted To Money” above and decide for yourself.

Tune in to Complex.com every morning at 8 AM for your daily “Wake N’ Watch” video.

On Saturday night, fans packed into a brick Nassau Coliseum for Hot 97's Holiday Bash, which was hosted by Angie Martinez and DJ Enuff and produced by “Big League Entertainment”. The show, which paired hometown acts like Jim Jones, and Busta Rhymes with Southern standouts like Young Jeezy, T.I and Ludacris prided itself as being the last big concert of 2008. Music Rap Sheet: Luda At Concert ‘Methinks the Ladies Doth Protest Too Much’

  • Stop bitching: Ludacris hit Cal State Long Beach for a concert this past weekend and was surprised at the low turnout of protesters. He goes on to explain why there’s nothing wrong with him having hos in different area codes, “I feel like even in the song ‘Ho,’ I kind of desexualize the word. I said men are ho’s also. So when people try to pinpoint or think when I say the word ‘ho’ or the word ‘bitches’ it’s always referring to women or trying to degrade women, it’s not about that. Hip Hop is a coded language, so it’s not for everybody to understand.”
  • Musical misogyny?: Scientists ask whether Hip Hop makes men abusive assholes toward women. Conclusion: it does if you’re already an abusive asshole towards women, kinda. [via]
  • Painful: The New York Times hit the Winter Fest 2008 Hip Hop concert. Despite T-Pain’s amazing ability to sell ring tones, he’s not such a great performer according to the Gray Lady. Snoop, Fabolous, Rick Ross, Fat Joe, Busta Rhymes, Juelz Santana and other also hit stage with the Dips’ Jim Jones making a surprise appearance.
  • Acting up: Diddy, ahem, we mean Sean Combs stars in TV movie “A Raisin in the Sun” on ABC tonight. Break a leg!

Music Jay-Z And Lebron James Play Two Kings To New Orleans

Two Kings Party/Photos: Johnny Nunez

The Ace of Spades was free-flowing as Jay-Z, Lebron James, and Jason Kidd packed the VIP section of New Orleans hot-spot Generation Hall Saturday night for a star-studded party. The night started off with an exclusive dinner where A-Listers like Gabrielle Union, Beyonce, Brandon Jacobs and Mark Cuban all attended. Once the dinner was done, serious bottle poppin' kicked off the “Two Kings”'a term to describe the duo of Jay-Z and Lebron’s after-party celebration. DJs Clark Kent and Mick Boogie spun bangers all night, as scantly clad model chicks kept people's breath fresh by handing out Wrigley's, the event's co-sponsor’s Doublemint gum. Check more flicks of what went down after the jump.

If the Hypebeasts are going to start actually caring detailing what Kanye West wore to the Grammy’s we’re throwing our chips in the game by raising the anty with red carpet fashion photos of Hov, Snoop, Luda, and what the hell, even Ne-Yo. And although they might not have been rocking light up jackets by Willo Perron, dudes did look grown up.

Pics snagged from OMG.
