Late yesterday, the actor's long tax-evasion troubles finally came to an end, with a $5 million fine and three years in prison'the maximum jail term possible for the charge of “willfully failing to file returns.” In his prepared apology statement, Snipes said, “I am an idealistic, naive, passionate, truth-seeking, spiritually motivated artist, unschooled in the science of law and finance.” Which should go over just fine in the yard.
