Complex’s new weekly feature “Who’s That Girl?” spotlights an up-and-coming woman we’ve got our eye on.
From Jamie Lee Curtis to Neve Campbell, there’s a long tradition of so-called “Scream Queens” we love. But who’s the next horror movie hottie to break out? Meet Jocelin Donahue, the star of this weekend’s indie fright fest The House of the Devil. The movie, which is a throwback to classic ’80s horror, is getting rave reviews, in no small part due to the breakout performance of the film’s striking leading lady. But Jocelin didn’t just pop up out of the blue—she’s been hustling in Hollywood for a few years now, turning heads in TV commercials and landing smaller parts in movies. Keep reading to watch the 5 scenes that made us take notice of Jocelin Donahue…

Jeans are, arguably, the most versatile and wearable pieces of clothing in fashion history, with indigo being the most popular by far. Who do you know that doesn’t own at least one pair? Go on, we’ll wait…Nobody, that’s what we thought. Capitalizing on their popularity throughout the years, brands have made them available at all price points: from bargain-basement-cheap to pairs so expensive you’d be embarrassed to tell your mother how much you paid for them. Last night, Complex trekked over to Bloomingdale’s to get a sneak peak of the Robert Geller for Levi’s collection. If you’re wondering who Robert Geller is and why he deserves to design a line for Levi’s, you obviously haven’t been paying attention to this site. Catch up!
The German-born, American educated designer got his start working at Marc Jacobs before going on to launch a number of brands, including the award-winning Cloak and the eponymous Robert Geller Menswear, which launched in 2007. Although he’s been toiling away in the industry for the better part of the last decade, gaining accolades left and right, it wasn’t until this year that the Council of Fashion Designers of America gave him the award for Best New Menswear Designer. The award came with a $50,000 prize that would be used to help established his label as well as the Levi’s mini-collection that puts a unique twist on American workwear classics. Familiar yet? If not, read on to see (and buy!) some key pieces of the from the collection we saw last night…

When the Great Depression ended, it wasn’t because of bailouts, but because of effort. We built a new country out of sweat equity, and the clothes we did it in were built for the long run: hardy fabrics, reinforced seams, and everything put together with deference to the way a body moves. And while the value of honest workwear never went away, today more than ever we appreciate the idea of pulling ourselves out of a rut.
Whether it’s classics like Woolrich and Levi’s or modern interpretations like PRPS and Engineered Garments, American style is form and function. No preppy entitlement here, kids; before the yacht clubs and golf shirts, “Americana” meant little more than dependable jeans and self-respect. As a companion to the article in our 2009 Style & Design special, we chose six brands who are keeping the real American aesthetic alive…

The jean jacket is a classic staple. Just ask Kanye West, who’s been seen wearing denim jackets in all types of fades and washes as of recent. Today’s Buy It Now is the OG version made by Levi’s—rugged, but clean with a relaxed fit. The vertical seams and button flap pockets add accents that function, and side tabs adjust the fit. It’s in a great dark wash, but feel free to manipulate it on the DIY-tip to fit whatever look you’re going for. For details, pics, and Buy It Now info, see below…
