Style Retail Spotlight: The Webster Miami

websterlead1
STORE: The Webster

CITY: Miami Beach, Florida

SINCE: 2007

FOUNDED BY: Milan Vukmirovic cofounder of Colette, Laure Hériard Dubreuil, and Frederic Dechnik.

PRICES: $$$$ (out of 5)

WHY WE COSIGN: If you’re vacationing in South Beach, don’t sleep on this super-luxe, three-level boutique. With a classic ’40s Caribbean art deco vibe, The Webster Miami houses brands like Billionaire Boys Club, Lanvin, Maison Martin Margiela, Marc Jacobs, and a bunch of other brands you’ll want to spend your rent money on. The store’s inventory is so official because founders Dubreuil, Dechnik, and Vukmirovic actually hit the bricks and hand-pick pieces from runway shows throughout the year. If you got some dough to blow after a couple nights on South Beach, you would be doing yourself a favor by swinging through. “The Webster is part of an elite group of multi-brand stores that have influenced the fashion industry and it has the ability to put Miami on the map as a destination comparable to New York, Paris, and Milan,” explains Vukmirovic. We agree. Besides, don’t you want to say you were down with the shop before it blows up?

BRANDS CARRIED: Acne, Adam Kimmel, Balenciaga, Balmain, Billionaire Boys Club, Givenchy, Lanvin, Maison Martin Margiela, Marc Jacobs, Neil Barrett, Pierre Hardy, Prada, Ralph Lauren, Robinson les Bains, Sundeck, Tom Ford, and Trussardi 1911.

Style Fall 2009 Trends From Paris & Milan Fashion Weeks

trendlead.jpg
Typically, European fashion shows can be a little too avant-garde for streetwise shoppers, so we were pleased to see that this year, designers at the Paris and Milan Fashion Weeks (which took place over the last two weeks) kept things relatively simple for their Fall 2009 collections.

If you thought you’d only be able to see what trends were popping overseas by checking Kanye’s blog, think again. Check out the trends that Louis Vuitton, Lanvin, Bottega Veneta, Burberry, and Junya Wantanabe are betting on for next season…

acnelanvinlead.jpg

Lanvin is at the tippy-top of tastemakers’ lists these days, so when the brand embarks on a collabo, the style world takes notice. All eyes are now on Lanvin’s recent foray into denim with Swedish brand Acne. The Acne/Lanvin collection successfully captures the emotional aesthetic of denim, using Italian and Japanese fabrics that are carefully selected for their technical or historical significance.

The Acne/Lanvin line comprises both men’s and women’s ready-to-wear clothing, as well as denim shoes, jewelry and bags. For more pictures of the men’s collection and availability info, see below…
