Textiles Gone Wild

When creative minds butt heads to make something cool, the result is even cooler, more expensive shit (even if it’s made from crap, uh we mean scraps). Known for turning decayed surfaces into a canvas and piecing together throwaway fabrics into premium apparel, the mosaic styles of the two-man team June 13th (NY artist Jose Parla and LA designer Dr. Romanelli) unveiled its series of collabs last week at LA gallery 181 N. Martel for a six-week exhibition. We know sick gear when we see it, and Parla’s hypnotic graphics qualifies as seriously ill, especially when he hooks up with Japanese sneaker and apparel heavyweight Visvim, denim brand Anachronorm, and sunglasses company Dita. Get ready to have your mind and your pockets blown. These exclusives are now available only at the gallery space. The next stops on the June 13th tour are at Tokyo’s CELUX (Louis Vuitton members club) on July 27 and at Hong Kong’s JOYCE on July 29. Don’t forget to recycle.
