The guy behind "The 40 Year Old Virgin" and "Knocked Up" exposes his 3rd movie with Adam Sandler, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, and...RZA?

<img src="http://cdn.complex.com/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/wake_funnypeople_thumb-150x150.jpg" alt="wake_funnypeople_thumb" title="wake_funnypeople_thumb" width="150" height="150" class="alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-39720"videoscreen" style="display:none;" />
For some reason it seems like Judd Apatow has made 25 movies in the last 4 years, but in reality, he’s only actually directed two: The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005) and Knocked Up (2007). These two critical and commercial smashes resulted in Apatow becoming one of the most coveted producers in Hollywood, helping bring Superbad, Pineapple Express and Step Brothers to the screen. Not since Harold Ramis has one man touched so many comedy classics.

So what’s up with J.A. Rule’s long-awaited third film as a director? Funny People opens July 31, and a too-hot-for-TV red band trailer just dropped. The flick stars Adam Sandler as a comedian/movie star, and also features future wifey Aubrey Plaza and our current cover subject Jonah Hill. And for the record, Complex would like to say you’re welcome to Mr. Apatow for obviously <a href="http://cdn.complex.com/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/2007-june-july_rzaseth.jpg"class="shutter"> inspiring Funny People’s pairing of Seth Rogen and RZA. Our next suggestion: a re-remake of Miami Vice starring Chris Mintz-Plasse and Rick Ross. Fuck Michael Mann, you’re the man!

Did the host of the BET Awards rock Michael Jackson's look better than our cover subject? Cast your vote.

Our June/July issue has been on newsstands for a minute, and you might have noticed that one of our cover stories (coincidentally) features Jonah Hill in a Michael Jackson themed photo shoot. For the record, no, we did not plan this. We’re good, but not that good. The King’s untimely death shocked us just like everyone else.

Since his passing on Thursday, the MJ tributes have been coming out in full force, culminating with last night’s BET Awards. In fact, we couldn’t help but notice that the evening’s host, Jamie Foxx, wore a nearly-identical Thriller-inspired outfit, complete with that classic red jacket and white glove (UPDATE: several astute readers have pointed out that Jamie’s outfit was inspired by “Beat It,” not “Thriller”. Our bad!). Who captured MJ’s essence the best? Vote for your favorite below…
Could Jonah Hill be the new king of pop? The scene stealing actor from flicks like Superbad and Forgetting Sarah Marshall is taking 2009 by storm—he stars in America’s current #1 movie (Night At The Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian), as well as Judd Apatow’s upcoming dramedy Funny People, and he’s even co-writing and producing Sacha Baron Cohen’s eagerly anticipated Brüno flick. To celebrate Jonah’s new superstar status, we photographed him in various Michael Jackson-themed scenarios for our off-the-wall June/July 2009 cover story. Shamon!
