While doing press for his new documentary, This Is Jim Jones (which hits stores next Tuesday), the Capo invited us into his NYC studio to talk about one thing we both love: sneakers. Complex’s Dec/Jan cover star, who’s currently on his splash campaign, twittering a new pair of sneakers he’s rocking every day from now until September, spoke on his kick game back in the day, and then invited brands to give him his own shoe (while throwing a few jabs at other rappers with signature sneakers).
Oh, and wait till the end of the video to get Capo’s take on the Air Yeezy. Watch the video below. Jones!

The numbers are in: Even with the Complex cosign, it turns out that Cam’ron’s album sold only 100 more copies than Jim Jones‘—which would be acceptable had the Capo not totally bricked himself. Damn, homies. In high school, you was the mans, homies! What the fuck happened to you?
We all know record sales don’t mean much anymore, but it’s still pretty clear that the Diplomats‘ reign is over, and that’s bad for hip-hop. The Dips’ output at their peak—Diplomatic Immunity, Purple Haze, Juelz‘ and Jones’ debuts and countless piff-tastic mixtapes—puts the crew up there with one of the best rap collectives of all time. Yeah, we said it. So how can we get the gang back on top? The first step is obvious: Get Cam, Jimmy and Juelz to reunite as a team. But then what? We’ve come up with 5 ways to bring Dipset back to dominance…

In the past few weeks, a bunch of different media outlets have been posting up chapters from Jim Jones’ forthcoming documentary “This Is Jim Jones.” Today is our turn, and we got a banger for our exclusive clip from the Dame Dash directed movie that hits stores on May 12th.
In part 4 (chapter 5 of the doc), you’ll see Jimmy shooting his first video for “Certified Gangstas” as well as a hilarious look at when Capo got his executive position at Warner Music group and went ape shit with their corporate card. Oh, and at the end you’ll see Jimmy sonning the hip-hop police and a girl he’s talking to the phone who he has renamed “a down syndrome slut.” Wow. Watch the exclusive clip below…

ARTIST: Jim Jones
ALBUM: Pray IV Reign
SOUNDS LIKE: An older, wiser Capo.
FUN FACT: The controversial track “Frenemies” samples the 1983 Isley Brothers song “Ballad For The Fallen Soldier,” which was also used on Jay-Z’s 1998 Too $hort duet “A Week Ago.”
WHY COMPLEX IS CO-SIGNING IT: There’s no denying Jim Jones’ affable personality, but his talent as a musician has never been able to get any real respect. Once thought of as Cam’ron’s weed carrier, Capo has evolved over the last decade into a more viable mainstream artist than his one-time mentor. But while his first three albums featured one or two memorable singles and a smattering of unfocused filler, his Columbia Records debut Pray IV Reign shows that Complex’s former cover star has way more up his sleeve…

Twitter can be great, it’s true. Whether you’re a Senator talking policy during a State of the Union speech or a candy company just trying to regain some buzz, it’s a networking tool par excellence.
Sometimes, though, the banality can get a bit much. Like, say, when you decide to tell your fans that you’re joining Jay Electronica in a “spiritual fast” that requires you to drink only “natural juices” for 48 hours. We’ll give Puff props for putting himself out there, but we realize that not all of you are following him on Twitter, so we decided to break down the colossally significant event for you*, our loyal readers…

Last month, Complex held a listening party for former cover subject Jim Jones at Ella in NYC. Besides party goers indulging in the open bar courtesy of JC Cognac, Dame Dash's son DJ Heir$ Boogz spun hits at the densely-packed venue.
Jones' forthcoming album Pray IV Reign, which drops March 24th, was played for the first time, and Jimmy even made an impromptu speech. Watch the listening session go down in the video below to see Jones, Dash, and Dip Set affiliate Mel Matrix Popping Off (pause)…
