Style How To Dress Like The Characters From Fight Club

lead
In case you didn’t catch our recent Wake N’ Watch post, Fight Club celebrated its 10th anniversary this week by holding special midnight screenings and releasing a special edition DVD. Aside from its themes of social and economic upheaval, crazy fight scenes and lessons on soap making, Fight Club also boasted one of the most eccentric characters in film history: Tyler Durden (played by Brad Pitt).

Almost as crazy as his personality was his style of dress, which was a complete departure from the straight laced style of his alter ego The Narrator, played by Edward Norton. Halloween’s long gone, but you can still co-opt both their looks into your own style. Check below to see how to dress like the dudes from the timeless classic…

Style How to Dress Like Jay-Z In The “Empire State of Mind” Video

JayZ_lead
He may still refer to himself as Young Hov, but the reality of the situation is: Shawn Carter’s all grown up. And as Jay’s gotten older, so too has his style of dress. If you couldn’t tell by his rhymes, just take a look at him—we don’t even think he wears Rocawear anymore, and he’s obviously given all his du-rags to Memph Bleek.

In the visual for his latest single from Blueprint 3, “Empire State of Mind,”, rap’s Frank Sinatra trades in the baggy jeans for some clean wool trousers, and goes with a navy-inspired duffle coat instead of North Face snorkel. Real classy. Read on to watch the video and learn how to get the look. But hurry before he’s on the next one…

Style How To Get Jamie Foxx’s “Law Abiding Citizen” Red Carpet Look

LEAD
Whither Jamie Foxx, hilarious comedy dude? Not that we didn’t enjoy him in Collateral and The Kingdom and other dramas, but word to the Joker: Why so serious? We miss the In Living Color Jamie, the Booty Call Jamie, even the The Jamie Foxx Show Jamie. That’s why we were so excited to read that Mr. Foxx is about to star alongside Zach G. and Robert Downey, Jr. in a new movie (out 2010) from homie that made The Hangover. It’s about damn time, man. We couldn’t deal with shit like The Soloist much longer.

Of course, Jamie still gotta get his acting on, so we have to put up with nobody’s-smiling flicks like Law Abiding Citizen, out tomorrow. But whether it’s funny Jamie or not-funny Jamie, we can all agree he usually manages to stay fresh. At the L.A. premiere of his new movie last week, Foxx rocked a luxe leather car coat, simple gray v-neck, raw denim, and a pair of Roper boots. You wanna rock this, too? Read on to see how to dress like Jamie Foxx

Style How To Dress Like Dwight Schrute from The Office

Dwight_lead
Dwight Schrute may stand for “Determined, Worker, Intense, Good Worker, Hard worker, Terrific” but, honestly, we believe he’s much more than that. Yes, he may be awkward, a little intense, and even a bit creepy sometimes. He’s definitely not someone you’d want to leave a child around…or anyone at all, actually. But let’s just admit it: One of the reasons we watch The Office is to see what crazy shit he’ll pull next.

So he may be the neurotic creeper at work but have you ever considered adding stylish to Dwight’s description? With the middle-parted hair, thick-rimmed glasses, and impressive sideburns, this budding Parkour professional/Dunder Mifflin superstar definitely has a “unique” fashion sense. After all, his wolf shirt was such a hit with the ladies during Jim & Pam’s wedding that we had to try it for ourselves. Read on to see how to achieve Dwight’s best looks

Style How to Get Young Jeezy’s Complex Cover Look

Jeezy Lead
Hat by HUF; Sunglasses By Alexander McQueen; Jacket by 3.1 by Phillip Lim; Shirt by Calvin Klein; Denim by PRPS; Sneakers by Gourmet

“Never wear anything that you wouldn’t want to wear in jail,” a guideline that southern rapper Young Jeezy has followed everyday when it comes to getting fresh. Sure the statement may seem a little extreme to those of us who aren’t involved in any bing-worthy activities but we can’t front, Jeezy makes his clothes work for him. That said, you won’t catch the snowman rocking skinny jeans and colorful dunks anytime soon. Sticking to classics like leather jackets and 59/50 fitteds, the Trapstar manages to own an aesthetic different than the usual rap trendsetters, and still look cool. In our October/November issue, Jeezy stepped it up a notch, but wore clothes that would be welcomed in any hood. Read on to see how you could get Mr. Jenkins’ look…

Style How to Dress Like Drake & Lil’ Wayne in “Money To Blow”

LEAD
Usually when we tell you guys how to get the look from a video—like last week’s style guide to the “Forever” video—we include all of the performing artists. But since we couldn’t advocate dressing like Birdman, we had to switch up the formula. (Sorry big homie—time to get a stylist.) Drake, on the other hand, has the style to match his flow while Lil’ Wayne has enough swag to make most outfits work. (Long live the plain white tee.)

A quick reminder: These posts do not provide exact carbon-copy ensembles, but are instead meant to serve as guidelines on creating a similar outfit. That said, read on to learn how to get the Young Money look and still have some cash left over so you can afford that 24-hour champagne diet…

Style How To Dress Like Zinedine Zidane

58338304
Non-soccer fans may only know Zinedine Zidane for his infamous headbutt of Marco Materazzi in the 2006 World Cup, but that’s like reducing Jay-Z’s career to the song “Super Ugly.” For the uninformed, here’s a primer: Algeria x France product grows up playing footie on the hardscrabble streets of Marseille, eventually starring in the French league before becoming the talisman for two of Europe’s biggest clubs—Juventus (Italy) and Real Madrid (Spain). Along the way, he cements his reputation as the world’s best player by leading the French national team to its first (and only) World Cup title in 1998. Through it all, ZZ maintains a swag as serious as cancer with a shatterproof mystique that’s equal parts James Bond and Russian general—quiet, severe, cool. Unlike Becks, Zidane gets respect without having to beg for it.

It’s no wonder, then, that the now-retired footballer has become a muse for famed designer Yohji Yamamoto. After seeing Zidane in person at last week’s Y-3 show, we put together a guide to achieving his understated look…

Style How To Dress Like Jay-Z at the VMA’s

jayz_getthislooklead1
(On Jay-Z) G-Star Slim Tailor Denim Jacket, $275; G-Star 3301 Boot Jeans, $220
Jay-Z might not be the most stylish rapper in the game, but somehow, someway, dude always manages to look fly. We guess that’s what happens when your bank statements look like the population of a small country. Take the outfit he rocked at this year’s drama filled VMA’s (how you feelin’, Lil Mama?). Choosing to renege on his decision to stay in all black and to stop wearing Timberlands (what’s next? A T-Pain collabo?), Hov dons a classic Americana look: vintage denim, denim jacket, leather vest and, of course, the NY Yankee fitted. We’ve already showed you how to get his all-black everything look, now read on to learn how to get a tweaked version of his award show style…

Style How To Dress Like: Green Day

lead7
By now we’re sure you’re getting a little tired of seeing the same dudes getting praised for the style on every blog (including this one). No disrespect to folks like Kanye, Kid Cudi, and Jay Z, but rappers aren’t the only musicians that get fly. Real talk. Take recent MTV Video Music Award winners, and one of the dopest rock groups in history, Green Day. Punk isn’t the most popular style anymore but we respect these guys for managing to keep their style unique to themselves but modernizing it so as they don’t look like old men trying to recreate their 1994 looks. Read on to find out how to recreate their outfits from the MTV Video Music Awards…
