Style Trendhumper: Slouch Beanies

What are slouch beanies, you ask? The term may be unfamiliar, but the look surely isn’t—we’re referring to those sagging, oversized skullies that have quietly taken over the streets this year. Sorta like Becks x hobo x Shibuya urchin on some faux rocker/skateboarder ish. Not that we’re totally hating, mind you. Since slouchies rest a little bit off the head, they are loose and comfortable, which makes them wearable even when it isn’t brick-ass cold. They also work for dudes with longer hair who want to achieve that perfectly disheveled steez. So, then slouch beanies: yay or nay? Vote ‘HUMP’ or ‘DUMP’ below…

Style Buy It Now: Raised By Wolves Tundra Beanie

RaisedbyWolvesLEAD
Like plaid shirts, pom-pom beanies took over the streets in recent winters as a retro look brought back with some modern twists. And, just like the plaid explosion, pom-pom hats are back in full effect this season. We’ve seen some brands go a little over-the-top with their skullies, but today’s Buy It Now, the Tundra beanie by Raised By Wolves, definitely merits the Complex co-sign. Simple colorways, minimal graphics, dope brand name—it’s stylish without making you look like some 7-year-old Scandinavian boy. We fucks with the all-black but the others are cool, too. To see all colorways and for Buy It Now info, see below…

Style Complex Giveaway! Win the New Era Spike Lee Joint 2.0 Cap

spikeleewithhat

After the success of his first Yankee fitted for New Era, longtime Bombers fan Spike Lee pulled out (pause) the second edition at Yankee Stadium last week. Instead of flags, the Spike Lee Joint 2.0 cap lists the team’s championship years as giant numbers—OK, OK, we get it, Spike. The Yankees are good.

Seriously though, the hat is fresh and since New Era only produced 750 of them, it’ll be a hard find…but we’ve got a crispy new one (in size 7-1/2) that we’re giving away to one lucky reader. Just correctly answer the bit of Yankee trivia below for your chance to win…

Style Buy It Now: Coal Camden Fedora

fedoralead1
You can’t be rockin’ fitteds everyday and it’s not quite the time to start throwing on those Elmer Fudds, so take a cue from the homie Don Draper and jump aboard the fedora bandwagon. Coal, the Portland-based hat company, has just what you need—the Camden Fedora is the perfect accompaniment for your dome. (Ayo?) The wool outer will keep your head insulated while the soft inner lining will make it a comfortable wear. In gray, it will go with everything in your closet—except maybe that Wes Unseld throwback. R.I.P. Anyway, tilt the hat to the back and you’re good to go! See below for detail pics and Buy It Now info…

Style Buy It Now: Stüssy Cuffed Beanie

stussylead
It’s not cold yet, but who says you have to wait for it to be brick to rock a beanie? And why would you listen to someone else’s rules anyway? Yeah, these hats were initially made to keep you warm but if chicks can get away with rocking Uggs in the middle of summer with short shorts then all-season beanies are cool too. That’s why today’s Buy It Now is this plush beanie from Stüssy. For more info and a detailed pic, hit the jump.
