Video Games Rockstar Debuts GTA IV ‘The Lost and Damned’ Trailer

Downloadable content is the next realm of console gaming, and leave it to Rockstar Games to be an early innovator. While most DLC until now has consisted of cute little mini-games or disposable add-ons, Rockstar has crafted what amounts to a bona fide Grand Theft Auto IV sequel. In The Lost and Damned 'the first of two planned GTA IV downloadable episodes'you control Johnny Klebitz, VP of The Lost biker gang, as he struggles to keep his team’s crime operation afloat. For those that love pushing choppers in regular GTA games, this is a must-download.

The Lost and Damned will be available on Tuesday, February 17 for download from Xbox Live for 1,600 Microsoft points ($19.99). Microsoft is also offering five days of free Xbox Live Gold during the week of the episode’s release. Watch the just-released trailer below…

Video Games Grand Theft Auto IV’s Aluminum Bat Is A Hit!

grand-theft-auto-bat.jpg
We had to laugh when we read a recent article about the recent Grand Theft Auto “Hot Coffee” lawsuit. Parents who were upset about an unlockable sex scene in San Andreas didn’t seem to mind that in the game itself, you could roam around and'among multitudes of other murderous acts'beat innocent bystanders senseless with baseball bats. Priorities, people.

Which brings us to the latest schwag sent from the Rockstar massive to promote Grand Theft Auto IV'that’s right, a real-life, aluminum bat. We’ve received all sorts of GTA IV-related goodies like T-shirts, stadium-style fan fingers, and a model of the Statue of Happiness, but nothing beats an actual weapon. As long as these kids don’t get a hold of it, that is. See some video of Niko swinging his bat (pause) in GTA IV below.

Video Games Explore GTA IV’s Liberty City With Google Maps

gtagooglemaps_main.jpg
Google Maps is basically the greatest thing to happen to navigation since the compass. Too bad we won’t have much use for it'since Grand Theft Auto IV dropped yesterday, we won’t be venturing outside the house for a few months.

In the meantime, IGN has created an amazing, fully-interactive Google Maps version of GTA’s new Liberty City. It works exactly like Google Maps, with a zoom function and dragable movement. Registered IGN users are continually updating points of interest throughout Liberty City as they discover them in the game, meaning you can select a box to view anything you want: mission locations, strip clubs, secret easter eggs, vehicles, etc. Once you display the general category, you can then click on the specific location to view the user-entered details. Now all they need to do is get a “Street View” function popping to catch those drug deals in action. Visit IGN to see the map, and check out the most recent GTA trailer after the jump.

Video Games Social Networking Like A Rockstar

rockstarsocialclub.jpg
With Grand Theft Auto 4 dropping on April 29, Rockstar Games is getting ready to launch the forward-thinking Rockstar Social Club. This website will allow GTA 4 players across the world (and fans of future Rockstar titles) to compete, interact and compare progress. All your stats will be linked up on leaderboards, which will let you see how you’re doing in the grand scheme of GTA players. Complete the game to get access to the “100% Club,” see the most dangerous neighborhoods on a aggregated police blotter, and compete in various other “Hall of Fame” benchmarks with your fellow geeks.

Using your gamertag or PSN ID, you’ll be able to register for the Rockstar Social Club on April 15, one week before the game’s release. If you’ve been living under a rock, watch the GTA 4 trailer after the jump…
