Technology Fiber Optic LED Glove Puts Light At Your Fingertips

fiberoptic3.jpg
It’s a shame what happened to glowsticks. What was once a useful hand-held lighting device has since been ruined by generations of raver douchebags who twirl them like batons. Luckily, it looks like flashlight technology might be taking another step forward with this Fiber Optic Glove concept.

Created by Slovenian designer Tilen Sepic for DesignBoom’s Bright LED competition, the power of the gloves starts at the wrist, where a battery pack and LED light source are hidden. Vein-like fiber optic wires then bring the light up the hand to the index finger and thumb. With the touch of a button, your palm will glow a bright white light, or emit a beam from the finger tip. Tron Guy would be proud. See more images of the concept below…

Technology Dataglove Makes One Handed Typing Harder

clove2_opener1.jpg
Call us crazy, but we thought new technology was supposed to make our lives easier'like the credit card machine in the back of NYC taxi cabs or iPhone’s visual voicemail. But every now and then a new gadget comes along that no one seemed to ask for and leaves us asking, What the hell are we gonna do with that? The Clove 2 seems to be one of those gadgets.

Developed by the hardware hacks over at Cemetech, the Clove 2 is a Bluetooth dataglove that allows users to type using only one hand when “it’s impossible to use a traditional keyboard.” Typing is achieved through a series of combination touches that are accompanied by unique sounds. Too bad we’d rather chop off both our hands than have to memorize all those combinations. Watch a video of the Clove 2 in action below.
