The ‘Three Thug Mice’ Run Wild Online

threethugmice.jpg
Finally, a cartoon we can look forward to watching. Billed as the “Ghetto Disney,” the Three Thug Mice is a series of 35 animated shorts—new webisodes drop weekly—set to realistic backdrops in NYC and feature a veritable who’s who of genuine downtown personalities doing voiceovers, including: rappers, graffiti writers, porn stars, actors, comedians, and other talented stand outs. The official ‘Thug Mice’ website popped things off with the debut of the first installment, “Leap Frog.” The instrumental laced (Sam Sever) ghetto saga depicts the ongoing thuggery of anti-hero vermin Vic (R.A. the Rugged Man), Tik (MIN One) and Brik (Kool G Rap), who make their way through the concrete jungle. The terrifyingly humorous trio hustle amidst a cast of cavorting characters while evading the porcine police, the cockroach cocaine cartel and a flock of other devious critters.

The Three Thug Mice are the brainchild of multi-faceted artisan Steve Marcus who sums up his branch of cinema quit eloquently, “Support the hood — not Hollywood.” And streetwear fans will be extra content, with Orchard Street collaborating on a limited edition Three Thug Mice t-shirt. Jump for the full cast including M1 of the Dead Prez, the Cro-Mags’ John Joseph, and street photographer Ricky Powell.
