Say goodbye to chicks dancing on bars. With their touch-sensitive counter top iBar, Danish company Mindstorm has discovered a way to add entertainment value to any watering hole without relying on wasted women stomping in their stilettos.

The iBar integrates video-projectors into your everyday bar top, making it light it up when anything'drinks, hands, money'touches the surface. The company claims that the one-of-a-kind bar is compatible with any type of counter, so contact them here if you’re trying to spruce up your local dive. Watch a demo video of the flashing lights below…

Who needs instruments anymore? This new toy plays a full scale of notes when your fingertips hit any hard surface.

Whether you play air guitar in your garage band or you like to spazz out on make-believe drums every now and again, the imaginary performance is nothing new. But get ready for a new level of realism with Kool Keyz, a toy that puts musical notes at the tip of your fingers without using an actual instrument.

In the standard key of “C,” each finger plays a note in the scale (A-F), with sounds that mimic the piano, violin or guitar. The audio output is amplified through a tiny speaker that clips onto your belt, charging through a computer’s USB port. Kool Keyz drops on October 17th for $69.99. Watch a video demo below.

Paying too much for electricity? This device from DIY Kyoto monitors how much your house is spending or saving.

Sure, there’s a lot of good in being kind to the environment, but ultimately, being eco-friendly doesn’t mean more money in your pocket. Or does it? DIY Kyoto’s latest invention, called Wattson, is the first device that calculates how much energy you’re using in your house, as well as how much you’ve saved after cutting down.

Through its LED display, the machine will tell you how much you expect to spend based on the amount of watts used, and thus allows users to become more aware of wasted energy. if you start using more energy, it glows red, and if you start conserving, it turns blue. The company claims it can reduce the electricity bill by up to 25 percent. Buy it here for about $183, and see a quick video demo below.

Forget glowsticks—a European designer has created a new concept that could really change the flashlight game.

It’s a shame what happened to glowsticks. What was once a useful hand-held lighting device has since been ruined by generations of raver douchebags who twirl them like batons. Luckily, it looks like flashlight technology might be taking another step forward with this Fiber Optic Glove concept.

Created by Slovenian designer Tilen Sepic for DesignBoom’s Bright LED competition, the power of the gloves starts at the wrist, where a battery pack and LED light source are hidden. Vein-like fiber optic wires then bring the light up the hand to the index finger and thumb. With the touch of a button, your palm will glow a bright white light, or emit a beam from the finger tip. Tron Guy would be proud. See more images of the concept below…

When Mother Nature makes it rain, usually that’s her tip to head indoors and call it a night. Those stormy days are about to end once the Pileus WiFi Camera Umbrella hits the market. Equipped with a GPS, Wi-Fi connection and a camera to upload photos to your Flickr account, this is clearly not Mary Poppins‘ parasol. One downside is the black and white display, but we’re so impressed that this thing doesn’t electrocute anyone who uses it that we hardly notice. Check out a demo after the jump.
