Sports The Real Life Blades of Glory?

reallifeblades.jpg
The New York Times profiled girly-man Johnny Weir and Evan Lysacek, the two top ranked, highly competitive figure skating champs who have been battling it out on the ice and in the press, with one of them even describing the other’s style as “a little too fake for me.” Strange enough this sounds like the opening plot for Will Ferrell and Jon Heder’s “Blade of Glory,” which features two bitchy rival figure skaters who thoroughly hate each other. Of course, in the movie, they physically fight on the awards platform and are banned for life, leaving them with no other option but to pair up. Well that’s where art no longer imitates life, cause after reading about the disdain shared between each other, these two dudes would rather kill each other than ever skate together.
