Wake N' Watch Wake N’ Watch: Jim Jones Hints At Dipset Reunion

Maybe the new year has given Jim Jones a new perspective on the status of his relationship with the original members of Dipset, because he seemed more optimistic about the situation than he’s been in a while during this recent interview. Capo was as candid and honest as he is in Complex interviews on yesterday’s 106 & Park, and he admitted that Cam’ron, Juelz, Freekey, and himself have something in store for the fans. Diplomatic Immunity 3? Our fingers are crossed.

Tune in to Complex.com every morning at 8 AM for your daily “Wake N’ Watch” video.

Music Juelz Santana x Complex: “Mantras” Interview + Video

You know what the game’s been missing? Juelz Santana. Aside from an album with his Skull Gang crew and a few appearances on Jim Jones records, the (former?) Dipset rapper has been pretty quiet while he preps his long-awaited third LP Born To Lose, Built To Win (Def Jam still claims it’s coming this year). To catch up with the kid from Harlem, we interviewed and shot him for the “Mantras” column in our August/September issue, where he speaks on breaking up with Cam, gossip bloggers and his keys to success…

Music VIDEO: Sneaker Talk With Jim Jones

jim-jones-lead
While doing press for his new documentary, This Is Jim Jones (which hits stores next Tuesday), the Capo invited us into his NYC studio to talk about one thing we both love: sneakers. Complex’s Dec/Jan cover star, who’s currently on his splash campaign, twittering a new pair of sneakers he’s rocking every day from now until September, spoke on his kick game back in the day, and then invited brands to give him his own shoe (while throwing a few jabs at other rappers with signature sneakers).

Oh, and wait till the end of the video to get Capo’s take on the Air Yeezy. Watch the video below. Jones!

Music Cam’ron Touches Mariah’s “Body”

camronmariah.jpgThere’s something so classic about Mimi and Killa Cam together. First, she remade Cam’s “Oh Boy” back in 2002, then rumors surfaced in 2006 that the two were secretly an item. It turned out not to be true, but now Clue managed to get Cam out of hiding to jump on the Desert Storm remix to “Touch My Body,” for which he jacked 2Pac’s “Ambitionz Of A Rider.” Killa even plays on those old rumors that he and M.C. had a thing going:

“Don’t let this industry come between us. You know I love you. We been through our ups, we been through our downs and you mean everything to me, man…Who I’m talking to? My money, who else would I be talking to?”

Music Dipset Head Scarves: Hump Or Dump?

When you’ve already smacked off every kufi in the tri-state area, keeping heads warm in the winter can be tough. Well, now it seems that Jim Jones has endorsed a new Dipset-friendly form of headwear: the Louis Vuitton scarf draped over the dome.

After coordinating their outfits in the “Love Me No More” video (click here to see Complex’s behind-the-scenes video on the set), Jimmy and Juelz birthed a potential trend. The look is half hoodie, half untied doo-rag, but with an extra luxurious swag-splash. And since the video debuted a few weeks ago, we’ve even spotted some Dip-stans running around NYC, draped-up in silk scarves. But the question remains…will the Complex readers hump it or dump it? Let it be known after the jump:

Music Could Dipset Suffer the Same Fate As Wu-Tang?

250px-dipset.JPGHipHop DX thinks so: “Jim Jones has already expressed concerns with Cam’Ron. The two have had it out in public, letting everyone know that the crew is divided. Furthermore, Juelz Santana also spoke on his relationship with Cam’Ron, adding that he’s got his own quarrels with Killa.” And it doesn’t stop there. Max B is releasing a mixtape called “The Assassination of Jim Jones,” and 40 Cal made his own track, “Dipset is Ova.”

Music Killa Futbol Season

dips.jpg
After Cam'ron's Killa Season dropped, stock in Kimberly-Clark branded wet wipes climbed. Next, the World Cup became the official sport for hipsters. There's no cool-guy T-shirt collective behind this one, just pay respect to the 1980 Washington Diplomats or rap's Ramones – Killa, Jones, Freaky, Santana.
