Comics The 40 Most Violent Comic Books Of All Time

brutal
Our love for comics might have started when we were kids, but it’s persisted well into our non-kid years. And being the adults that we are now, with our attendant adult tastes, we sometimes like our comic books to have…let’s call it “mature content.” After all, stylized violence seems weird when it’s all THUD! and no blood.

That’s why we maintain a love for books that manage to juggle it all: great writing, great art, and no-holds-barred material when the time is right. You can keep your tights and sterile fights; we’ll stick with the comic books that put the “ill” in “illustration.” And we’ve rounded up The 40 Most Violent Comic Books Ever in anticipation of this weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con; read up now, impress a booth babe with your detailed knowledge later…

Music 5 D-Bag Rock Bands That Make Our Ears Bleed

bands_lead.jpg
Sorry, Nickelback, but douches are for vaginas, not rock ‘n’ roll.

Grunge was grimy, but it wasn’t until the ’90s rebel music died down that rock lovers were really done dirty. After awesome bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains told money-hungry suits to go fuck themselves, a new generation of radio-friendly bands that only appeared to be rough around the edges completely douched-out a new formula for post-grunge arena rock. Sadly, some of these lames are still with us all these years later.

Imagine our horror when we saw that Nickelback (no, can I get the whole $14.99 back?) just released a new album, Dark Horse. Nice title meant to evoke badassness, but they’re still tools, and they inspired Complex, shuddering with disgust, to call out the five douchiest post-grunge arena rock bands…
