Style Complex Halloween Costumes: Jon Gosselin

jonlead
We’ve come to the last day of our week-long Complex Halloween Costumesseries, where we showed you how to recreate costume looks for Kanye West at the VMAs, Kenny Powers, hip hop’s favorite cop Officer Ricky and former NY Giants receiver Plaxico Burress . So let’s see: you’ve got the emotionally unstable superstar, the ultimate asshole, the exposed rapper and the jail-bound athlete. What archetype is left? Ah yes, the douchebag.

And what better douchebag is there to be in 2009 than reality show “star” and recently divorced father of eight, Jon Gosselin. We won’t go into why Jon G. is a douchbag—if we did detail the fact that a soft shell crab has more of a backbone than he does, or the fact that he’s dating a jump off 10 years his junior, or that he really expects people to pay him $10,000 per club appearance, we would be here all day. And, really, we don’t even need to speak on all that, all we have to do is a shine a light on his new found bachelor wardrobe which seemingly consists of nothing but Ed Hardy and True Religion Jeans. If this sounds like the perfect costume for you, keep reading to learn how to put it all together.

Style Complex Halloween Costumes: Plaxico Burress

If you found our other three D.I.Y. Halloween costumes—Kanye at the VMAs, Kenny Powers and Officer Ricky—to be not quite hilariously scathing enough of our society, maybe you would rather dress up as an all-star athlete who threw away a $25 million dollar contract by accidentally shooting himself in the leg.

We’re talking about none other than former New York Giants receiver, Plaixco Burress! We feel sorry for this firearm toting fool—almost killing yourself seems like punishment enough to us—but not sorry enough not to wring all the laughs we can get out of his situation. If you feel the same, read on to learn how to perfectly capture the look. Just remember to leave the guns at home. We don’t want life imitating art.

Style Complex Halloween Costumes: Kanye West (VMA Edition)

Yesterday, we kicked off our Complex Halloween Costumes series with the ultimate Kenny Powers outfit (click here if you missed it). That was cool, we’ll let you finish, but today, we’ve got one of THE GREATEST HALLOWEEN COSTUMES OF ALL TIME!! That’s right, it’s Kanye West at this year’s VMAs.

After the whole Taylor Swift incident, this tight-black shirt ensemble became a memorable Kanye classic. Sure, the intricate Keith Haring inspired haircut may be tough to replicate, but read on to get everything else you’d need to look like West did on the memorable night—including the Hennesey bottle he was swigging from on the red carpet…

Each day this week, Complex will be rolling out a new Do-It-Yourself Halloween Costume option. Today, we’re kicking things off with a banger: Kenny Powers from the hilarious HBO comedy Eastbound & Down. Not only would it be awesome to walk around in Powers’ all-black everything x well-groomed mullet steez, but the best part is, you can go around your Halloween party yelling out “you have clothes like a fucking dickhead,” and not get beat up for it. To get the Kenny Powers look, snake-skin boots and all, follow our simple blueprint below…
