If the Nylon Safari Boot’s were a little too high for you, Common Projects has your alternative right here with another black nylon banger called the Cap Toe Mid. The description says these are put together using “Italian Nylon” which means, it’s probably the best nylon you’re ever going to feel. If you’re looking to drain the bank account, cop them HERE at Cali Roots for $330. What recession?

When we learned three of the biggest, best dressed pop stars of our generation were all going to appear in a video together, we excepted some glamorous, big money shit. Wouldn’t you? Instead, the Anthony Mandler helmed video for Jay-Z’s second Blueprint 3 single, “Run This Town” has the trio in, what appears to be, a war torn village overrun by rebels (watch it below). There’s also no electricity, just tiki torches and lots and lots of leather. Cool…?
However, we’re guessing Jay had a treatment like this in his mind from the get-go, ’cause guess what color everyone in the video is wearing? Yup. All black everything! And despite their locale being completely run down, Jay-Z, Kanye and Rihanna look like they just hit the mall and threw a couple ‘fits in the bag. Hov and Ye’s looks may not be for everyone, but we’ve all had those nights when we wanna feel completely murdered out (black on black on black). If you’re feeling a little rough n’ rugged and think you can pull it off, keep reading to see how to recreate both looks…

By now you probably know the deal with Common Projects. They’re expensive, they’re hard to find, and people who you aspire to dress like (i.e Mr. West) rock them. This time around the the Safari Boot Model 1732 gets murdered out, with a more comfortable all-nylon upper. Check for these at opening ceremony later this month/early Sept to buy.

Despite owning one of the hottest street wear brands on the market, when it comes to his personal fashion, Pharrell keeps it surprisingly simple. He may throw on a couple iced out chains, belt buckles and G-Shocks, but beneath the flashy accessories, the Imperial P usually just rocks a t-shirt and jeans (usually BBC Ice Cream) and some Vans. And his summer wardrobe seems to be no different.
In this picture that he posted to his Honyee blog, Pharrell, standing in what we can only imagine to be an airfield for private jets, is sporting a white tee, shorts, a straw fedora and a bag that probably cost more than your parents car. But, bag aside, this is a look that can work for anyone—those with Skateboard P dough and those using a skateboard as primary transportation. We’ll show you how to do it, son…

They’re not Rod Lavers, and they’re not PF Flyers, and as much as we love the aforementioned classics, when it’s time to really show out, we go with Common Projects. CP has been the official “time to step it up” sneakers for the past year, and don’t expect the Italian-crafted sneakers to give up that spot in 09. If you’re looking to be the talk of the next industry party (P.R chick ass!) cop these Tournament Low’s here for $325.

We’ve been showing you cool kicks from Common Projects for a while now, and for good reason: CP was the first to truly nail the “sneaker-shoe”, i.e. footwear that fits work and play and playing like you’re working. You know who you are.
Of course, such versatility comes at a premium, but if you’re still dropping two bills on Jordans, it’s time to diversify. The Common Projects Tournament Mid Velcro Black is a low-cut perforated leather sneaker with a velcro strap'made in Italy, not Indonesia.
