Art 10 Graffiti Artists Who Could Have Saved Chris Brown’s Cover

Chris-Brown-Album-Cover-Graffiti
The artwork for Chris Brown’s post-beatdown album Graffiti was released earlier this week (pictured above), and it looks like we might have spoken too soon with the Worst Album Covers Of The Year post we did a few months ago.

The cover is kinda reminiscent of something Prince might do, but since the album is entitled Graffiti, and it features Chris Breezy using an aerosol can, it might have behooved him to hire an actual graffiti writer to help illustrate his cover. In fact, big names from the graf world have been designing album art since the dawn of hip-hop. Check out 10 artists who could have helped Chris Brown’s Graffiti look less corny…

Style How to Dress Like Chris Brown (Community Service Edition)

leadimage2
Everybody loves a good girl that’s gone bad, but what about a bad guy that’s going good? If you do the crime, be prepared to do the time—or at least to pick up the horse shit. This week, Chris Brown began his 180 days of community service after pleading guilty to assaulting Rihanna. After rocking a questionable baby-blue getup on Larry King, the singer was spotted looking considerably more casual while cleaning out manure from horse stables in Virginia. You can debate whether or not his outfit is fashionable, but one thing’s for sure: We wouldn’t want to be in his shoes. Learn how to get this look if you can, minus the smell…

Style Who Wore It Better? Leather Jackets

leather
Ever since James Dean rocked one in Rebel Without a Cause, the black leather jacket has been the de rigueur clothing item for those that consider themselves bad boys. Since then we’ve seen the jacket ebb and flow out of style with celebrities, and recently it seems to be poppin’ once again.

Just this past week we saw Eminem wearing one with his unique Detroit gutter steez, Chris Brown rocking one while trying to stay incognito (although, “bad boy” is the last image that dude should be trying to portray) and John Mayer channeling his inner rockstar at Jay-Z’s September 11th concert at Madison Square Garden. You already know the deal, all three guys rocked it in their own way, but who wore it better? Vote below…

Style Before Chris Brown: A History of Celebrity Bow Ties

bow_lead
Chris Brown hit the apology circuit last night, appearing on Larry King to offer his side of the story (”I still love her, I just can’t be with someone who runs into my hand all the time.”) Of course we don’t really care about mea culpas (you-a can culpa our nuts if you want though), we’re more interested in dude’s baby blue sweater and bow tie combo. And apparently so is the internet, since #chrisbrownsbowtie has had Trending Topics on Twitter going nuts.

Stylin’ or wildin’? We can’t really say, but we do know CB’s neckwear choice is just the latest in the long history of memorable bow ties. Take a look back at a few classic examples, as judged by our patented Louis Farrakhan rating system (because he’s the master of the bow tie, obviously). Bow down to the kings, suckas!

Style Who Wore It Better? Vests

lead16
After 2008 saw everyone from Justin Timberlake to Jay-Z rocking suit vests, we thought the multi-use layering piece was going to take its rightful place along side the cardigan as a go-to garment. Then for some reason they began to fade from the red carpet like Nicole Ritchie. But what goes around comes around, so it’s no surprise that we’re starting to see a bunch of dudes incorporating the suit vest into their outfits once again. Most recently we’ve seen Chris Brown wearing it with a casual slant, Pharrell mixing high and low (if you could call LV denim “low”), and Cash Money’s newest recruit, Bow Wow, fully suited up. You already know the deal, all three dudes rocked it their own way, but who wore it better? Vote below…

Politics & Crime Musicians In Court: A Fashion Analysis

chris-brown-lead
Chris Brown’s court room ensemble can’t be beat!

Recording artists are constantly being judged for their fashion choices, but at no point is an outfit more important than when they’re going before a judge in court to face the music. For instance, the same baggy thug apparel that gives a rapper street cred makes them look like a disrespectful miscreant to a gavel banger.

Yesterday, when R&B singer Chris Brown appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court to be arraigned for the alleged assault of his pop star girlfriend Rihanna, he made a smart selection: tight fitting dress clothes topped off with a sweater. Note the black—it’s slimming, which makes him look too skinny and frail to whup on a woman. Well done, Chris. Of course, not everyone is so wise. Check out five artists whose court look was just plain criminal…

TV 5 Celebrities Who Should Attend VH1’s Tool Academy

chrisbrown_tool_academy_main.jpg
It’s tool time for celebrity douche bags.

Men are dogs and women want to put them on leashes. That essentially sums up VH1’s new reality series Tool Academy, where the most “arrogant, dishonest, thoughtless and unfaithful boyfriends” are duped into entering therapy that may transform them into marriage-ready castrated zombies.

OK, maybe we take some issue with the premise of this man-hating show, but we can admit that some men go too far. We need look no further than the daily celebrity news to see men pissing all over their hot ladies. When they cast the (inevitable?) celebrity version of Tool Academy, these five dudes could benefit from a little higher learning…
