It’s starting to smell like teen spirit and no, Chris Hansen isn’t prepping another season of To Catch a Predator. We’re talking about the annual coming of age buddy sex comedy Fired Up! that opens at theaters this weekend. As it goes, the movie is about two high school football stars who for some reason decide to skip summer football camp and enroll in cheerleading camp instead.
Sounds like a box office killa to us if you’re into 100 minutes of girls like Annalynne McCord (pictured above) running around in spandex and short skirts. They’ll be tons of pubescent perspiration and human pyramid building, and if any of the actresses are as hot as some former on-screen cheerleaders the movie is going to be a win for everyone. Watching this past year’s intense Super Bowl, you couldn’t keep your eyes off the ball. But the Jets could change all of that now that they’ve casted their new string of cheerleaders. For the third and final round of tryouts held at yesterday at Ecko HQ, 52 contestants battled through a series of choreographed dance routines in front of the Jets staff, former Jets linebacker Greg Buttle and celebrity judge Marc Ecko for a chance to cheer on the team.
Having Complex bossman ME involved is a part of a partnership with the Jets where Ecko designed the new and improved outfits for the cheerleaders, who now preferred to be called “The Flight Crew” after the sexy aviator pin-up look of the ’60s. While 21 girls were handpicked after hours of deliberation, the 22nd will be decided by the fans at NewYorkJets.com.
