Two-time NBA MVP (and former Complex Shotcaller) Steve Nash is back in the L.E.S. for tonight’s sequel to last June’s soccer extravaganza, Showdown in Chinatown. The 8-on-8 soccer match, which is for Steve’s charity Football for Good, once again pairs NBA stars with international footballers. Joining returnees like Jason Kidd, Baron Davis and Barcelona’s Thierry Henry this year are newcomers Tony Parker, Chris Bosh, and Inter’s Javier Zanetti.
The action begins at 6 p.m. tonight at Sara D. Roosevelt Park on Chrystie St. between Rivington and Stanton—get there early to get a good seat. (Note: Tickets for the afterparty at the Hudson Terrace are on sale at the Steve Nash site.) To, uh, kick things off, we had a chat with Steve about his favorite sneakers, his worst suit, and which NBA player to watch for tonight …

BRAND: Apolis Activism
SINCE: 2004
HOME BASE: Los Angeles, CA
FOUNDED BY: The brothers Raan, Shea, and Stenn Parton
WHY WE COSIGN: The Partons should be commended for collaborating with non-profit organizations like Invisible Children to create opportunities in developing nations. (Its trademark red-stitch logo is in homage to the Red Cross.) But outside of the brand’s philanthropy, Apolis is also recommended for its high-quality menswear pieces, from prep-military sweaters and jackets to superior accessories. The Apolis Activism x Filson briefcase is a prime example of the brand’s win-win proposition: Not only is it produced with Ugandan canvas and sourced by Invisible Children, it is an incredibly well-made piece.

Think Scarlett Johansson is too classy to auction off a used tissue for charity? She snot.
Scarlett Johansson gives and gives. First The Spirit star blessed the world with huge twos and horrendous acting, and now she’s making money for the charity USA Harvest by auctioning off a snot-soaked tissue she blew her nose with on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno (bless you very much, peons).
Scar-Jo is continuing a rather disturbing trend of getting fans to pay big money to for a little celebrity DNA. If you ask us, we should be showering her with DNA. But if you think she’s cool for this, hey, blow your nose, then blow it out your ass. And while you’re at it, check out more ridiculous DNA-licious celebrity memorabilia auction items.

We never advise buying a t-shirt with another dude’s name on it, but when it comes to charity, exceptions should be made. The store that never loses, a.k.a. UNDFTD'in conjunction with other retail heavyweights like Union LA and Stussy, and sponsors like Stones Throw, Fiji Water, and Converse'are celebrating Black Friday with a block party where the T-shirt DJ AM is wearing will be on sale. Proceeds from the shirt will go to accesshelp.org, an organization that helps people who have survived or were affected by aviation accidents.
UNDFTD is also collecting non-perishable food for The LA Mission Charity, and every person who donates goods will receive a 20% off voucher for Union and Undefeated shops on La Brea. If a good deed wasn't motivation enough, the first 200 people to donate food will be gifted a pair of Converse x Undefeated x Geoff Mcfetridge Raw Dog Chuck Taylors.
