Dead Space’s Gratuitous Violence Gets Animated

We have fond memories of massive, bong-fueled Resident Evil sessions (with the lights off, of course), so we’ve got high hopes for the upcoming space-horror game Dead Space (EA: 360, PS3, PC), in which a bunch of angry aliens take over an interstellar mining ship. From all accounts, the title promises to be a banger, combining the suspenseful elements of the Alien trilogy with loads more gratuitous, violent, bloody gore. And boy, do we love gratuitous, violent, bloody gore.

The game drops on October 20 (just in time for Halloween), and a straight-to-DVD animated flick called Dead Space: Downfall that explains the back story will also be in stores. The cartoon looks cool enough, but we bet a dime to a dollar that plans for a live-action adaptation movie are already in the works. Aqua Teen Hunger Force Needs A Real Life Carl

Are you a fat, hairy, crude asshole who likes to wear flip-flops and sweatpants? Aqua Teen Hunger Force want to make you a star.

The Adult Swim show is in the midst of developing the first-ever “live-action” episode (or as close to live action as you can get when your protagonists are all talking, floating fast food products), and they just announced that they will be holding an open casting call for the role of their depraved neighbor Carl. The search will begin next Saturday (July 26) at the Omni Hotel during the San Diego Comic Con, where the show’s co-creator, Dave Wills (who also voices Carl) will be on hand. The Boondocks’ Season 2 Comes To DVD

The first season of The Boondocks was decent, but it couldn’t quite step out of the shadow of Aaron McGruder’s consistently hilarious comic strip. That’s why we were so surprised when Season Two, which debuted last October, turned out to be the best half-hour on television.

By focusing less on Huey (the “conscious” brother) and more on Huey (the wild, wanna-be thug brother), the show hit comedy gold. There were so many classic stories: Tom’s girl getting stolen by Usher. The whole saga of Thugnificent moving to the neighborhood. Lil Wayne crashing the house with a family of Katrina refugees. But after reviewing the new DVD box set (which comes out today and features the controversial banned BET episodes), we settled on our favorite moment from the entire series. It was from the episode called “Home Alone,” where Granddad goes on vacation and leaves Riley and Huey to fend for themselves with a jar of money for food. Blu’s MUTO Puts Animation On The Wall

Italian artist Blu is already world-renowned for his massive wall murals, but now he’s finally brought them to life. For his new project MUTO, Blu made an increadibly ellaborate stop-motion animation video using only wall paintings in Buenos Aires and Baden. The result is a seven minute artistic epic where a surreal cast of characters move all around a series of walls, even interacting with objects on the ground. No description really does it justice, so watch it for your self below.

Adult Swim x Kid Robot Mini Figures

Last night, Kid Robot and Adult Swim held simultaneous parties in New York, Atlanta and L.A. to celebrate the release of of their first Mini Figure collabo. All your favorite Cartoon Network characters from Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law, Frisky Dingo, The Venture Bros., Metalocalypse, Robot Chicken, Squidbillies, Moral Orel and Assy McGee are all represented in vinyl form. BET’s CEO Debra Lee is parodied as “Debra Leevil”

A few months ago, the internets were buzzing about The Cartoon Network’s refusal to air two controversial episodes of their envelope-pushing series, The Boondocks.

Well, as of today, both episodes have finally leaked in their entirety. “The Huey Freeman Hunger Strike” and “The Uncle Ruckus Reality Show” both take aim at the BET network, whose President of Entertainment is former Boondocks producer Reginald Hudlin. Watch 'em after the jump…
