There’s always an excitement factor to awards shows, but many leave of us feeling unfulfilled in the end. Thankfully, the Internet is making this less of an issue. Why waste three hours in front of the TV when you can just watch all the good parts online later? For last night’s BET Hip-Hop Awards, the freestyle cyphers were the highlight and here they are for those of you who were too busy watching NBA season openers, ripping bongs, or whatever else you do on weeknights. This clip featuring rhymes from Mos Def, Black Thought, and Eminem was actually the last to air, but probably the best overall. Last night on twitter, the sneaker heads were buzzin’ about Lil Wayne’s sequined Supra Skytops when he took the stage for Young Money’s set. Are they coming out? Did Supra send them to Weezy? Well, the answer to both questions is…no.
Our source at Supra says they had no idea where the customs came from, which means Wayne had them made on his own. We’re guessing one of his Young Money weed carriers hooked up with the same person who customizes Paris Hilton’s sidekicks. Wayne and Kanye definitely dominated last night’s BET Awards, but we really had a hard time paying attention to all that rap shit. With some of the finest women in the entertainment industry strutting their carefully manicured stuff, how could we focus on anything else?
