Video Games Video Game Of The Week: Batman: Arkham Asylum

batman-arkham-asylum-1TITLE: Batman: Arkham Asylum

DEVELOPER/PUBLISHER/PLATFORMS: Rocksteady Studios/ Edios Interactive/PC, PS3, XBOX 360

FUN FACT: Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy reprise their roles as the voices of Joker and Batman.

WHY COMPLEX IS CO-SIGNING IT: Let’s be honest, 99% of superhero-based video games suck. After the super noob-friendly Batman Begins game and the awful Superman Returns game, it was looking down hill for DC. But much like the newest Batman film, the Dark Knight is here to save them. To put it in simplest terms, Batman: Akrham Asylum is not only a fanboy’s wet dream but it also holds its ground as one of the best titles of this year.

STORY: Screw Sherlock, the Dark Knight will always be the greatest detective of all time. While most other superhero games stick close to the comics, BAA is original while still paying respect to comic history. The new plot, which focuses on Batman battling everyone he’s locked up in the past, is an interesting and new idea, but it’s the dynamic gameplay that’s most impressive…

Movies 5 Films That Could Bring Eddie Murphy Back

eddiemurphyriddler_lead1.jpg
Like most '80s babies, we’ve got a love/hate relationship with Eddie Murphy. We loved everything he did up until Boomerang and we pretty much hate everything he’s made after 2001. So imagine our surprise when we read a rumor this morning that Eddie Murphy was being considered for the role of The Riddler in the next Batman installment. Word? Eddie Murphy? As the Riddler? We’d rather watch The Rock try to do Shakespeare.

Regardless, it’s obvious that Eddie is trying to revitalize his career. There seem to be no fat suits or pantyhoses in any of his upcoming flicks (a definite plus) and there was a rumor going around that he was trying to make a Beverly Hills Cop 4 (eh, not so much). That may work, but we’ve come up with a couple movie ideas that we think would get him on some sort of track…check ‘em out below…

Movies Christian Bale’s History Of Violence

christian_bale-lead.jpgAccording to British media, The Dark Knight’s Christian Bale was arrested today in London by police investigating claims that he assaulted his mother and sister. The 34-year-old actor allegedly broke out some rough stuff in his suite at the Dorchester Hotel on Sunday, the day before the European premiere of his latest Batman blockbuster.

Why would a big star like Bale touch up his own family members? Maybe they told him that George Clooney’s Batman was better, even with the nipple suit? Maybe they asked for two hours of their life back after watching Harsh Times? Whatever the motivations, and whether the allegations are true or not, Bale is definitely not the one to fuck with. Over the course of his 20 year film career, he’s been turned into a lean, mean fighting machine. After the jump, watch the best of Bale’s on-screen ass kicking (girls included).

Movies The Dark Knight Shines Brightly

dark_knight_21.jpg
With Batman Begins (2005), director Christopher Nolan saved the comic hero franchise from years of camp and kitsch (and George Clooney's nipple suit). But Ayo! Scott only knows how to keep it all the way real, so let's agree that as refreshing as Nolan's darker take was, the movie had some shit on its shorts. For people who don't own Batman bed sheets, the environmentalist terrorist Ra's al Ghul was a pretty obscure and lame supervillain to kick-start the franchise with. Katie Holmes, who played opposite Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne's childhood friend and love interest Rachel Dawes, had the same chemistry and believability with Bale that she has with her heterosextraterrestrial husband Tom Cruise

Video Games Two-Face Is LEGO Batman’s Illest Villain

twofacelegobatman_main.jpg

Sure, this summer’s new Dark Knight flick looks great, but there’s another Bruce Wayne incarnation dropping in September: the LEGO Batman video game. Unlike the darker, more modern movie, the LEGO game is based around the light-hearted 1960s Adam West TV show. Today, Warner Bros. revealed one of the villains that will show up in the game: Two-Face. Originally known as Gotham’s district attorney Harvey Dent, he turns into a sociopath after a criminal throws acid in his face. In the game, the character’s weapons will be twin .45 automatics. After the jump, watch Two-Face in action (with a cameo from Scarecrow) and see some new stills from the game.

Rides The Batmobile Is For Sale On Ebay

batman.jpg
If you’re a real 80’s baby, you might remember watching the live-action Batman show at Six Flag’s Great Adventure around 1989. It was a re-enactment of certain scenes from the movie, complete with a replica of the Batmobile (keyword: replica). The car you now see before you, is the real deal. One ambitious eBay seller is looking to get rid of one of the five actual Batmobiles from the Tim Burton classic for a cool $500,000 bucks that actually works, just not street-legal. Here’s what he had to say about some of the vehicle’s specs:

The car is 20 feet long and 8 feet wide. The chassis is custom built and the motor is a Chevrolet 350. To get in you have to be able to enter through the top where the canopy opens, just like in the movie.

If that doesn’t convince you to come out of pocket yet, the gallery of close-ups will after the jump.

Video Games Mortal Combat Vs. DC Universe Fight Gets Ugly

mortaldcgame_main.jpgMost superheroes have at least one weakness, but still, it’s hard to imagine anyone ripping their skulls out of their heads. But in Capcom’s new game Mortal Combat Vs. DC Universe, Batman, Superman and the gang are going to have to compete with a gang of ninjas who won’t stop until they hear that fateful word ring out: FATALITY. The rumored game just got a lot more interesting with the release of a new trailer, which shows Batman facing off with Sub-Zero in a pretty wild show down. Watch the carnage after the jump.
