Style Buy It Now: Band of Outsiders Sweatpants

bandofoutsiderssweats We know you read the word “sweatpants” and think of bummin’ around on your couch, taking bong hits, and watchin’ crap TV all day. But in men’s style, sweatpants are on a come-up quicker than Amber Rose. For example: the wool Shetland/Terry Tailored pants from Band of Outsiders. These high-end sweatpants are sophisticated enough for a date (or even work) but are perfect for… bummin’ around on your couch, taking bong hits, and watchin’ crap TV all day. That, or the strip club. Sweatpants in a strip club, FTW! For detail pics and Buy It Now info, see below…

Style Retail Spotlight: Context Clothing, Wisconsin

context1

STORE: Context Clothing

CITY: Madison, WI

SINCE: 2005

FOUNDED BY: Sam Parker and Ryan Huber

PRICES: $$$ (out of 5)

WHY WE COSIGN: What DQM and UNFTD are to sneaker stores, Context Clothing is to denim shops. Not satisfied with just selling denim, these guys opted to head down the “boutique” path and make the in-store experience just as cool as the product. Much like sneakerheads, denim connoisseurs are often interested in the story behind the final product as much as the item itself. From the quality of the denim to the cut, Context knows everything there is to know and are more than happy to share the wealth (unlike their sometimes overly pretentious cousins in the sneaker industry).

Stocking brands like Atelier LaDurance, A.P.C., Dunderdon, Engineered Garments, Nom de Guerre, Nudie Jeans and Woolrich Woolen Mills, these guys have an eye for quality and that’s for damn sure. So get your denim game as proper as your sneaker collection and make sure to stop buy…if you’re ever in Wisconsin. You would be a fool not to, what else is in Wisconsin?

BRANDS CARRIED: Atelier LaDurance, Nom De Guerre, Nudie, A.P.C., Kicking Mule Workshop, Woolrich Woolen Mills, Wings + Horns, Somet, Shades of Greige, Quoddy, Momotaro, Krane, Kenton Sorenson Leather, Jean Shop, Band of Outsiders, Dunderdon, Canada Goose and Engineered Garments.

Style Retail Spotlight: South Willard LA

southwill2.jpg
Opened in 2004, South Willard was just what 3rd Street in L.A needed. The area was well-known for mom and pop stores, so avid surfer Ryan Conder and Danielle Kays flipped the script. “We felt we there was a need for the kinds of clothes we were interested in that were not being represented in Los Angeles,” said Conder.

South Willard’s style is heavily European and Japanese influenced and carries A.P.C, Band of Outsiders, Common Projects, Dries Van Noten, Patrik Ervell, Quoddy, Raf Simons, and Stephan Schneider. Be on the look out this Spring, as the creative duo will release their own collection all made in Japan. More shots of the space below…

Style The Season’s Best Winter Boots

abington-hiker-420.jpg
It was all good last year when wifey hooked you up with a brand new pair of yellow Timbs to get you through the season, but if you haven’t noticed it’s a year later and winter is just about to really show its head. Purchasing sneakers is easy'study the blogs, or hit up your sneaker-head friend who’s in the know about what’s hot and what’s not'but when it comes to buying a pair of boots, things get a bit more tricky.

Because our New Years Resolution was to look out more for others, we scouted the market and searched high and low for some boots that will withstand this winter season and look good doing it. Check out our top-ten below…

Style Charles Hamilton Dances For Band Of Outsiders

charleshamilton.jpg

Haters, be forewarned: Your head very well may explode when you click on this video clip of Charles Hamilton dancing as a model for the spring/summer collection of Band of Outsiders. For the brand’s showing at September’s Fashion Week, founder (and former Hollywood agent) Scott Sternberg put together videos of Hamilton, Kirsten Dunst and Max Minghella prancing around while wearing his line of smartly detailed, slim-cut pieces.

In September, the videos played on giant screens with background music in the studio where Band of Outsiders presented their show; here, they are presented in raw form, minus the tunes. See below for Charles getting his Carlton Banks on, as well as a bonus vid of a surprisingly sexy Miss Dunst doing her own diddy bop. We’re scared to read the comments…
