We can’t honestly say we were surprised at the news that current Complex cover girl Aubrey O’Day was kicked out of Danity Kane'it was a well-known rumor for weeks, but was only “officially” announced when the Making The Band 4 finale aired live on Tuesday night. Good for you, Aubrey. You don’t need them the way they need you.

We were all set to leave the story alone when we found out that Dawn “Miss Salty” Richard and US Weekly are apparently throwing some subliminal darts our way, implying that it was Aubrey’s super-sexy Complex cover that led to her dismissal. “We can’t do [a shoot for Dollhouse Teen] one day and then the next day do an obnoxious cover,” said Miss Salty. Excuse me? Was you sayin’ somethin’??? We begs to differ, ma, and the facts bear us out.

SEPT. 14: Aubrey is so devastated by the news that later that day she attends the Baby Phat fashion show and an US Weekly party in NYC. (Note the same dress.) Rumors about a DK break-up are already spreading.

SEPT. 17: We leak our Aubrey cover. Internet goes nuts.

OCT. 7: Penultimate Making The Band 4 airs. At the end of the episode'which was taped on SEPT. 14'Diddy tells Aubrey to walk.

OCT. 14: Making The Band 4 finale airs, including live interviews with Danity Kane members and Diddy. Aubrey makes an impassioned defense of her actions, crowd applauds. Dawn, a.k.a. “Miss Salty,” simmers in the background.
