Today Alice in Wonderland—Tim Burton’s film adaption of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass—will hit theaters and we’re actually pretty excited about it. Yeah, we know it’s based on a children’s book, but we’re willing to check it out based on Tim Burton’s participation alone. Even if you forget that Burton has gotten Johnny Depp to deliver some of his best performances, and you forget that Burton has a visual style worthy of being called “Burtonesque,” you must remember that Burton has cast some pretty fine ladies in his films. So consider this a reminder: Tim Burton’s 10 Hottest Leading Ladies…

#10: Miranda Richardson
FILM: Sleepy Hollow (1999)
ROLE: Lady Van Tassel/Crone
• There’s nothing like a sexy villain (see our #3 spot) so you know we had to show Lady Van Tassel some love. To top it off, throughout the film she’s controlling the head of the Headless Horseman. We could make a joke about head here, but it’s just too easy.

ROLE: Jenny (Young)/Jenny (Senior)/The Witch
• Helena Bonham Carter has been dating Burton since 2001 and has had a role in Burton’s last six films. But Burton must be a cruel lover since he’s made his wifey look freakin’ awful in most of her roles. However, this film is a happy exception.

ROLE: Dottie
• Daily plays a childish bike mechanic who has a major crush on Pee Wee (Paul Reubens). Yes, you read that correctly. But Pee Wee won’t go out with her because he says he’s a “a loner, a rebel.” Really Pee Wee? We had no idea wacking off in a movie theater was “rebellious”.

#6: Sarah Jessica Parker
FILM: Ed Wood (1994)
ROLE: Dolores Fuller
• In Burton’s biopic of Edward D. Wood Jr—a man once voted the Worst Director of All Time—he cast a pre-Sex and The City Sarah Jessica Parker to play Wood’s girlfriend. In the film, Fuller breaks up with Wood because she considers him a freak for being a cross dresser. We’re just amazed she didn’t break up with Woods after watching one of his films.

#5: Geena Davis
FILM: Beetle Juice (1988)
ROLE: Barbara Maitland
• Davis’ character is married to Adam Maitland (Alec Baldwin), both of whom die in a car crash early in the film. The deceased couple turn into ghosts who must haunt their old house. No wonder she had to enlist the help of Beetle Juice. Ghost or no ghost Geena Davis can come over to our house anytime.

#4: Estella Warren
FILM: Planet of The Apes (2001)
ROLE: Daena
• After astronaut Leo Davidson (Mark Whalberg) lands in the year 3002 on a planet where apes use humans as slaves, Davidson leads a human resistance against the apes while maintaining a love triangle between Daena and a female chimpanzee named Ari (Helena Bonham Carter). We won’t ruin the ending, but just so you know, Davidson kisses Daena (who’s played by a former swimsuit model) and then proceeds to kiss Ari…who’s a chimp. Making that scene the biggest Mark Whalberg FAIL since The Funky Bunch.

#3: Michelle Pfeiffer
FILM: Batman Returns (1992)
ROLE: Catwoman/Selina Kyle
• It seems like we can’t do a leading ladies post without mentioning Complex Wifey Hall of Famer Michelle Pfeiffer. What can we say? She was sexy as a trophy wife in Scarface, she was sexy as a 1870s countess in The Age of Innocence, and she was sexy as Catwoman in Burton’s Batman Returns. That woman is just sexy all over.

• In the film, Basinger plays a photojournalist who gets romantically involved with Bruce Wayne (Micheal Keaton) but is later kidnapped by The Joker (Jack Nicholson) only to be rescued by Batman (Micheal Keaton). Yeah, we know Nicholson’s Joker and Burton’s Batman is corny in comparison to Heath Ledger’s Joker and Chris Nolan’s Dark Knight, but you can’t tell us Kim Basinger isn’t hotter than Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Wow, it’s been a rough couple weeks for the Garden State. First there was the full fledged shootout in Jersey City between armed robbery suspect Hassan Shakur and the JCPD that left three officers critically injured and one dead. Then a week later we get news that 44 public officials, including Secaucus Mayor Dennis Elwell, were arrested during an FBI sting that was the culmination of a large probe into the political corruption that goes down throughout the state. Way to go, New Jersey! Way to take some of the media attention off of New York’s fumbling Senate dealings for a short period of time.

Despite all the craziness that’s transpired in the most densely populated state in the country, Jersey is still a great place to… take a weekend trip to, or something. By now we’re sure you’ve heard about the cruel ~~hoax~~ rumor perpetrated on ~~the male gender~~ Anne Hathaway this week. Contrary to reports about her affinity for anal sex, Anne did not say that “every woman should try it,” or that it makes her feel “feminine in a very special way.” It was fun while it lasted, folks.

Anyway, once we were done ~~fantasizing about playing Anne some backporch music~~ being outraged at the rumor-mongering in our society today, we got to thinking: there must be some Hollywood hotties who use their service elevators for both business and pleasure. And lo and behold, after examining the public record, we found five who we think might be telling us there’s a key to their back door stashed underneath the flower pot.

Now that the Emmys are done, it’s time to start dickriding the movie industry again, and in the early Oscar pool our money’s on Anne Hathaway. Her performance in Rachel Getting Married is one of the first roles this year to get the hype machine spun up. But we’ll leave such discussions up to Ayo! Scott. We’ve got a different question to ask. See, Anne is all grown up since The Princess Diaries–but what has she grown up to become? A wifey or a trifey?

Get Smart And Save Your Money

Steve Carell has come a long way since he was reporting fake news for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Sometimes Ayo! Scott wishes he'd go back where he came from. Not all the time, of course. Only when he follows up comedic masterpieces like Little Miss Sunshine and The Office with three successive family-friendly turds like Evan Almighty, Dan in Real Life, and Horton Hears A Who! Add to that list Get Smart, his remake of the 1960s Mel Brooks TV show about good spies battling bad ones. (Personally, Ayo! was hoping for a T.J. Hooker movie.)

In the new version, Carell plays the bumbling CONTROL spy Maxwell “Agent 86″ Smart straighter than Don Adams did in the original, so you root for him to be the hero even while he’s roasting his nuts with a laser beam. It has the explosive action and sex appeal you’d expect from a summer blockbuster (though Anne Hathaway seems to desperately want to be a 45-year-old women, in movies and real life), but is sadly weighed down by obvious jokes that fall flat. The big tough assassin for KAOS is actually a softie with marital problems? Ayo!'s choking on the hilarity! President Bush is stupid? That gem will keep Ayo! chuckling as the spawn of Satan leads us all into the end of days!

On the bright side, for every deuce Carell drops, Jon Stewart has him back on the show as a guest for a few minutes of actual comedy. After the jump, watch the Get Smart trailer and Carell's recent appearance on The Daily Show and decide which doesn't suck.

How To Make Anne Hathaway Less Lame

Make no mistake: Anne Hathaway is a damn fine woman. Every time we see those classic features, red lips and porcelain skin, we get the sudden urge to make a baby and retire to Cape Cod. But damn, does she have to make so many terrible movies? If she puts out one more Disney flick, sappy rom-com or boring British period piece, we’re giving up.

With the exception of her straight-to-DVD epic Havoc'where she plays a rich girl who gets naked and engages in group sex with some Mexican gang-bangers (pun intended)'Anne has never made a single movie worth watching as far as we’re concerned. We’re reserving judgment until we see Get Smart (check back tomorrow for Ayo! Scott’s official review), but the recent rumors that she has broken up with her douche-bag Italian boyfriend Raffaello Follieri give us hope that she’s turning over a new leaf. After the jump, we reevaluate Anne’s career and suggest some movie roles she should have taken instead.

Movie She Should Have Made: Ghost World
Granted, this Disney movie'where she plays a regular teen who becomes royalty'made her into a serious star with the tween crowd, but it forever marked her as a prissy, flavorless loser. The big screen adaptation of Ghost World was a great movie, and it also happened to make another unknown actress named Scarlett Johansson into a star. Advantage Scar-Jo.

2002
Movie She Made: Nicholas Nickleby
Movie She Should Have Made: Drumline
This Charles Dickens novel has been made into a movie no less than 10 times, and we hated all of them (especially the silent version from 1903). Instead of rehashing this tired plot, we would have liked to see Anne reach out to the “urban” (see: black people) audience by taking the female lead in this Nick Cannon vehicle. Zoe Saldana was dope, but something about seeing Anne Hathaway as a cheerleader at an HBCU would have been a trip.

2004
Movie She Made: Ella Enchanted
Movie She Should Have Made: Mean Girls
Needless to say, starring in a Cinderella knock-off didn’t do very much to broaden Anne’s prissy Princess Diaries image. If she wanted to stick to doing teen movies, she could have at least chosen a decent one like Mean Girls, which was actually damn funny and made stars out of both Lindsay Lohan and writer Tina Fey. Instead she made Ella Enchanted and Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement in the same year. All time low.

2006
Movie She Made: The Devil Wears Prada
Movie She Should Have Made: Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction
After making a trashy sexploitation flick like Havoc in 2005, Anne tried to re-legitimize herself with Hollywood favorites like Brokeback Mountain and The Devil Wears Prada. But we would have preferred to see her take the nudity one step further in the sequel to Basic Instinct, where she could have easily played the lead role as a diabolical writer/sex kitten. Besides, nobody wants to see Sharon Stone’s wrinkly old cooch anyway.

2007
Movie She Made: Becoming Jane
Movie She Should Have Made: Knocked Up
Before they cast Katherine Heigl, Anne was actually the original female lead in this modern day comedy classic from Judd Apatow. According to reports, she dropped out of the movie because she did not want to show her vagina during the hospital scene, even though they were going to cut to footage of some random woman giving birth. Instead, she decided to star in a biopic about British writer Jane Austen. That pretty much sums it up.

2009
Movie She’s Making: Bride Wars
Movie She Should Be Making: Havoc 2: Back To The Barrio
Let’s see…a rom-com with Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway where they play best friends who plan their weddings on the same day…No, that’s simply not going to work for us. We would like to suggest that she revisit her best movie, except this time, she becomes the leader of an East L.A. gang called “Las Flaquitas” who use their sexual prowess to control the city’s drug trade. You’re welcome.
