The first series of commercials were heavy on the anti-Nike tip, with Dominique Wilkins asking “Mike” to come Pump up on primetime TV. Craze.

He plans to repay his debt and ditch his players, but he inevitably takes pity on them and stays to teach them how to be winners. No, not even a degenerate gambler bets on black.

By allowing him to work with the team as head cheerleader, assistant coach, and team manager, Jones transforms Radio from a town joke into a inspirational figure. You see, it’s the kind white man who is really special.

There is way more racist fuckery in this turd of a film than we can even begin to discuss here, but seriously, a black man turns to a white savior because he’s intimidated by another white dude’s dong?! This shit is implausible even in Bill Romanowski’s fantasies.

• After failing to qualify for the 1988 Summer Olympics, four Jamaican sprinters try to achieve five-ring glory in the 1988 Winter Olympics as a bobsled team. Clueless about the sport, they seek wisdom from a drunken, grumpy old ice beast played by John Candy (literally, he was a beast on the ice, winning two gold medals bobsledding for the U.S. in the 1968 Winter Olympics before he got caught cheating in 1972 and moved to Jamaica in shame to become a bookie). Yet again, black athletes are so inept that even the lowliest, most destitute white bum has to be brought in to show them how it’s done. Ice cold, Disney, motherfuckin’ ice cold.

Thank the gods for the white man, otherwise Africa would be really fucked!

It makes perfect sense because, you know, white chicks have historically been known to back that ass up.

WHY WE COSIGN: As of late, sneaker boutiques have been popping up like babies in the ’50’s. And if you consider yourself a sneakerhead that should be good news. But what we’ve noticed are a bunch of stores with no differentiating qualities, all peddling the same semi-exclusives. What happened to having design concepts as dope as the products you were selling? Looking to distance themselves from the rest of the kick pushers, the folks behind Miami Beach’s Air Traffic Control have done just that with one of the most inventive shop themes we’ve seen: an airport. What better place to get fly?

Opened by three homies who shared a love of sneakers, it’s obvious as soon as you walk through the doors that this isn’t one of those fly-by-night pop up shops. The first think you’ll notice is the cool stainless steel shelving that holds sneakers sick enough to make Bun B drool—If you can’t find a pair in this consignment-type shop, you probably can’t get ‘em. You’ll then peep the large conveyor belt that shuffles sneakers around much like the baggage claims found in real airports. Pretty genius. And, of course, they also stock dope t-shirts and hats to match with your newly purchased kicks. All in all, this is easily one of the coolest sneaker spots we’ve visited. Complex: What is the aesthetic you’re striving for at Air Traffic Control?

Owners: Our goal was to bring concept to consignment. So mixing industrial stainless steel shelving with our check-in style register, conveyor belt centerpiece, and a pair of waiting room style benches, we felt we’d arrived at a good balance in carrying out our airport-inspired theme. As well as offering the largest variety of exclusive kicks in the Miami area.

Complex: Describe your favorite piece in stock right now.

Owners: The Nike Air Force 1 “Atmos” is a shoe commonly overlooked at our shop. To us it represents an era when collaborations weren’t a dime a dozen, before quality control seemingly went out the window and “Obsessive Sneaker Disorder” made its debut on Oprah, and when Flight Club was simply, www.vintagekicks.com.

Complex: Who are your style icons?

Owners: Collectively, we share an affinity for anything Ralph Lifshitz (Ed Note—that’s Ralph Lauren to those who don’t know). As far as sneakers go, we can’t go without acknowledging Tinker Hatfield. Elephant print is arguably as iconic as any LV or Gucci monogram print. Style icons are everyday people just the same, though. They walk the streets of New York City, and they’re the basis and true inspiration for our style.

Complex: What was the first designer item you bought or wore?

Mark: My prized possession as a youth were a pair of tan, Polo Country cookie boots, which I’m happy to say, I still have to this day in their original box. I break them out every now & then for nostalgia’s sake, but that quickly fades after an hour or so, when I realize my foot has grown some since then, and sacrificing comfort for the sake of style just isn’t a priority these days. I know, sad.

Complex: What are your retail plans for the future?

Owners: Our business was born based on a shared love for sneakers, and while that’s currently the core of our shop, we’d be fools to pigeonhole ourselves to that category only. The market is forever changing. Versus being stubborn and essentially going down with the ship, we’re prepared to embrace change. ATC is beyond sneakers and we’re looking forward to building our brand and introducing products outside of the world of sneakers. Stand by.

Complex: Any anticipated collaborations?

Owners: Our focus at this point is really just on growing our own brand to a point where we feel comfortable collaborating with others. We’re essentially still newbies, and have a lot of ideas that we want to present on our own. When the time is right, and if it makes sense, you’ll start seeing ATC collaborations.

This week came the news that running back Larry Johnson had signed with the 7-2, AFC Central-leading Cincinnati Bengals after being released by the 2-7, AFC West cellar-dwelling Kansas City Chiefs, who, despite their woeful performance this year, cashiered the former Pro Bowler for (among other things) Chris Brownin’ broads in the club, dissing Chiefs head coach Todd Haley on Twitter, and using gay slurs to address the media. It turns out though that LJ isn’t the first to make a similar worst to first upgrade based on his own fuckery, as you’ll see with our History of Upward Failing Athletes…

DARRYL STRAWBERRY
TEAMS: From 1995 San Francisco Giants to 1996 New York Yankees
UPWARD FAIL: How do you get back at the league for suspending you for sniffing a little coke? How about joining the biggest American sports franchise right as they’re on the brink of a dynasty. The Giants went on to finish in last place both in ‘95 and ‘96, while Darryl scooped up three rings with the Yankees in ‘96, ‘98 and ‘99. Damn, revenge is a hell of a drug, too.

ANDRE RISON
TEAMS: 1995 Cleveland Browns to 1996 Green Bay Packers
UPWARD FAIL: Rison had the worst season of his career in ‘95, just as the Browns were in the process of relocating to Baltimore. The fans weren’t too happy and let Rison know at the home games. His response? “We didn’t make the fucking move. So, for all the booers, fuck you too! I’ll be glad when we get to Baltimore, if that’s the case.” Rison never made it to Baltimore because after a brief stint with the Jaguars in ‘96, he went to the Packers that same season to help Brett Favre and the boys win Super Bowl XXXI.

ISAIAH RIDER
TEAMS: 2000 Atlanta Hawks to 2000-01 Los Angeles Lakers
UPWARD FAIL: Arrests, mandatory drug counseling by the NBA, and showing up late to games got J.R. released by the Hawks after the lockout-shortened 2000 season. Rider landed on his feet though, signing to the Lakers where he played off the bench the majority of the season and won a ring despite being left off the playoff roster. See kids, fuckery can lead to success. Well, at least temporarily.

TERRELL OWENS
TEAMS: 2003 San Francisco 49ers to 2004 Philadelphia Eagles
UPWARD FAIL:After the ‘03 season a contract dispute occurred when T.O.’s now former agent, David Joseph, forgot to void the remaining years of his contract with the 49ers, resulting in the team retaining rights to Owens. After much whinging by Owens, S.F. traded him to the Eagles for a draft pick and defensive end Brandon Whiting. T.O. went on to play in his first Super Bowl that season with Donovan McNabb, before bitching his way out of Philly as well.

JIMMY JACKSON
TEAMS: 2004 New Orleans Hornets to 2004-05 Phoenix Suns
UPWARD FAIL: The Hornets were in the rebuilding process and acquired Jackson to help bring along younger players on the team. J.J. didn’t go in for that mentoring shit, and never even showed up in Nola. The Hornets then traded him to the Suns where Jackson made it to the Conference Finals in consecutive seasons, which was just a little better than the Hornets, who had a combined record of 56-108 over those campaigns.

RANDY MOSS
TEAMS: 2006 Oakland Raiders to 2007 New England Patriots
UPWARD FAIL: Moss wrapped up his feelings about playing for 2-14 Oakland pretty succinctly in an ‘06 interview: “Maybe because I’m unhappy and I’m not too much excited about what’s going on, so, my concentration and focus level tend to go down sometimes when I’m in a bad mood.” Such sentiments got Randy shipped to the Patriots in ‘07 (for a fourth-round draft choice) where he set records with his new BFF Tom Brady and participated in the only 16-0 regular season in NFL history. The Raiders? Well, they doubled their win total from ‘06 and finished 4-12. Yeah if we went from worst to near perfect we’d have that same Kool-Aid smile Moss is sportin’ in the pic above too.

STEPHON MARBURY
TEAMS: 2009 New York Knicks to 2009 Boston Celtics
UPWARD FAIL:You would figure hooking up with an intern in the back of your truck, threatening your coach with blackmail, going MIA for a few days, and just refusing to play would get you out of your contract quickly. It actually took Marbury a few years but it was worth the wait when he joined the defending champ Boston Celtics last season, who went to the playoffs while the Knicks went fishin’. Too bad Starbury was one season late for the Celts world championship, and a bit too crazy to stay on the roster for this season.

ADAM MORRISON
TEAMS: 2009 Charlotte Bobcats to 2009 Los Angeles Lakers
UPWARD FAIL: The worst teams get the top draft picks in order to maintain competition in the league, but A-Mo, the third overall pick in the ‘06 draft, wasn’t doing much for the failing Bobcats, so they shipped him to L.A., where he was there riding the pine when the Lakers picked up their 15th NBA title. Although our favorite tennis hottie slaying bench boy will probably see more playing time than him this season.

VICENTE PADILLA
TEAMS: 2009 Texas Rangers to 2009 Los Angeles Dodgers
UPWARD FAIL: 2009 didn’t start off so hot for Vicente: he caught swine flu and was released from the Rangers (despite Texas being in playoff contention themselves) for being a “disruptive presence in the clubhouse.” But he got picked up by the L.A., where he went 4-0 down the stretch, and won the clinchin Game 3 of the NLDS, all while the Rangers were at home carving pumpkins.

LARRY JOHNSON
TEAMS: 2009, Kansas City Chiefs to Cincinnati Bengals
UPWARD FAIL: Larry Johnson is the most recent addition to this lucky group. Makes us think some of the Lions should his strategy of picking up felony assault charges and going in on the head coach via Twitter to get out of the endless cycle of losing. Although don’t take it too far and end up like this guy.

DEVELOPER/PUBLISHER/ PLATFORMS: VALVE/ VALVE/ PC & 360

FUN FACT: While many of the most violent video games are no exception, Left 4 Dead 2 found itself being played with much bloody and gory enjoyment except for Australia which put a ban on the much anticipated sequel.

WHY COMPLEX IS CO-SIGNING IT: While we’re fans of first person shooters, what’s the point of buying the same “run for your fucking life” game? Not having played the first Left 4 Dead and really only being fans of the Zombie Nazis mini game in Call of Duty, we stepped into the Left 4 Dead 2 world with a little bit of skepticism but left with a lot of smilies- and some new underwear.

STORY: Well like we said, it’s survival. Infected people running around trying to kill you and your friends and kill you. Of course every character has their background story but the main objective of the game is to live and reach a final extraction point.

GAMEPLAY: What’s cool about Left 4 Dead 2 is unlike other zombie games it gives you the Infected versus mode where you play as a boss zombie out to kill the survivors you play as in other modes. The other modes include Scavenge, Versus, Survivor, Campaign, and Realism. We really like realism. Sometimes there are just too many moments in these games where we find we some how survived an onslaught of enemies with very little bullets. Realism mode makes things a bit harder and requires a bit more communication between you and your fellow survivors.

Speaking of which, Left 4 Dead 2’s greatest aspect is probably the multiplayer. The game itself is fun but who the hell wants to fight zombies on their own? And more importantly who wants to really sleep by themselves after that? The Complex Crew roles deep so when we play video games, everyone has to like the game. This game provides the rush and awesome time that even your noob team mate can enjoy. Especially with the game’s “A.I. Director”.

The AI in this title is ridiculous. Depending on how well you and you’re team are doing it will switch things up. Things going too well? More zombies, less ammo. Things going too bad? It will make things easier for you and your crew of softies broskis.

GRAPHICS: If the sequel to a game’s graphics don’t improve, it’s really a let down. Thankfully that problem doesn’t occur. While it’s not the spitting image of New Orleans (and let’s face it, most games aren’t the spitting image of squat) the graphics do pay good homage to the southern city even whilst covering it in blood and brains.

DOWNSIDE:Unfortunately like we said, this is a zombie survival game. So like many other games in that genre it doesn’t have much to offer in terms of story and depth. This is a game you’ll probably never play on your own, but you got friends right? Oh you don’t? Shit.
