Wake N' Watch Wake N’ Watch: ‘X-Men Origins: Magneto’ Movie Trailer

Okay, we’re gonna keep it 100 from the jump: this isn’t an official trailer. X-Men Origins: Magneto has been in development hell for the past couple years and was pretty much confirmed as a dead project last month when producer Lauren Donner said it was “at the back of the queue” of the multiple X-Men film projects in the works. That’s too bad, because this fan-made trailer has us kind of hyped at the prospect of a Magneto flick. Ian McKellen always killed the role and Magneto is a dark, generally interesting character. Hopefully the project materializes at some point, even if it’s years down the line. Until then, we leave you with this well-done montage of footage from previous X-Men movies. Enjoy.

Wake N' Watch Wake N’ Watch: Gucci Mane f/ Usher ‘Spotlight’ Music Video

Gucci Mane has given us street anthems for years now, so we’re not surprised that he’s expanding his appeal by catering to the ladies with “Spotlight,” the first single off The State vs. Radric Davis. It might be a little odd to see a guy who was just the South’s best kept secret dancing around with Usher now, but stuff like this comes with the territory of success. We’ll deal with it for now, but we still need to hear the standard La Flare content on this album. We’ll find out if the LP delivers in that aspect on December 8, or when it leaks in a couple weeks. Burrrr!

Wake N' Watch Wake N’ Watch: N.E.R.D Performs New Song W/ Rhea On ‘90210′

If N.E.R.D’s addition of sexy female member Rhea turns them into ubiquitous, radio mainstays (a la Black Eyed Peas post-Fergie), it won’t be because they started making sellout, pop music. The Pharrell-fronted band performed a record by the name of “WTF” or “Radio” on 90210 last night, and it seems like they aren’t making any drastic departures from their beloved signature sound. Which is good, because the new song sounds dope. We’re looking forward to hearing the full version on Instant Gratification sometime next year. Nevermind the corny dude raising the roof at the 50 second mark though. We usually don’t watch this show either.

Wake N' Watch Wake N’ Watch: ‘Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time’ Movie Trailer

You won’t catch “Jake Gyllenhaal on all fours getting a mouthful of Ledger” in this flick (word to the homie Jonah Hill), but it’s alright because Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time looks like it might be a decent film in its own regard. Disney, Jerry Bruckheimer, and the rest of the team that made the Pirates Of The Caribbean trilogy a success are converging their efforts once again for this future blockbuster. With a budget that’s clearly past the $100 million mark, it looks like the stigma of video game franchise-turned-movie franchise might be over for good.

Wake N' Watch Wake N’ Watch: 50 Cent f/ Ne-Yo ‘Baby By Me’ Music Video

The last time we spoke with 50 Cent, he was set on a November 23 release date for Before I Self Destruct. Since then, the album has leaked and that date has been bumped up a week. Supposedly, Fif isn’t worried because the LP has had a generally positive reception online. Here’s another reason he might be able to relax a little: “Baby By Me.” The song hasn’t charted yet, but it seems like this one has more legs than some of the female-friendly singles from Curtis that never really took off. You’ll find this playing all over MTV channels today, but it’s more than fine if Complex is the first place you watch it.

Wake N' Watch Wake N’ Watch: Jay-Z & Alicia Keys Perform ‘Empire State Of Mind’ At The World Series

You’re probably still debating over whether New York or Philadelphia has hotter girls (vote here), but there is a baseball series going on between both cities, you know? We kid. Of course you know. That’s not to say that you’ve been watching all the games though, no matter how sports savvy you try to act around your friends. In case you missed out, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys opened up Game 2 of the World Series last night with their NYC anthem, “Empire State Of Mind.” The boys in blue might wanna get Hov on the bill for all their games, because they walked away with the win. Watch the performance above.

Wake N' Watch Wake N’ Watch: Kanye West Gets Slapped

A couple weeks ago, we put you on Kanye West and Spike Jonze’s excellent short film, We Were Once A Fairytale. Now the duo is back with the perfect counter to their lengthy, pensive video–a brief, hilarious behind-the-scenes clip. The post title isn’t entirely misleading, but the confrontation is obviously staged. Hopefully this inspires rappers to get more creative with their behind-the-scenes features and do away with bloated joints that clog the blogs these days.

Wake N' Watch Wake N’ Watch: BET Hip-Hop Awards Freestyle Cyphers

There’s always an excitement factor to awards shows, but many leave of us feeling unfulfilled in the end. Thankfully, the Internet is making this less of an issue. Why waste three hours in front of the TV when you can just watch all the good parts online later? For last night’s BET Hip-Hop Awards, the freestyle cyphers were the highlight and here they are for those of you who were too busy watching NBA season openers, ripping bongs, or whatever else you do on weeknights. This clip featuring rhymes from Mos Def, Black Thought, and Eminem was actually the last to air, but probably the best overall. You’ll find two more cyphers, with appearances from Joe Budden (he KILLS it), Nicki Minaj, Wale, and more after the jump…

Wake N' Watch Wake N’ Watch: The First Five Minutes Of ‘The Boondock Saints II’

This Friday, The Boondocks Saints II: All Saints Day hits theaters almost exactly a decade after the first film was released. Even if you haven’t seen the original cult classic, you’re bound to have a few friends that swear by it, and if the sequel is anything like it’s predecessor, it should be worth checking out. Unfortunately, we’re not sure if that’s going to be the case. This preview gives us a little bit of the “unnecessary sequel” vibe, but knowing the franchise’s penchant for highly stylized action, it’s possible that there’s some awesomeness waiting after these five minutes. We’ll find out soon enough.

Wake N' Watch Wake N’ Watch: Funny Or Die ‘Paranormal Saw’ Spoof

Just like that, Halloween is pretty much here. We got in the spirit a little early by counting down the scariest movies of all-time last week. Moviegoers are doing the same by hitting the theaters hard for flicks like Paranormal Activity and Saw VI. Funny Or Die took the opportunity to toss some humor into the current horror movie realm with this “Paranormal Saw” clip. Anyone familiar with either film will most likely find something funny about the next four minutes of parody. Watch it above.
