Win ‘It’s Always Sunny’ Season 3 On DVD

itsalwayssunnycontest_lead.jpg
On those hazy nights at the bar, we’ve all done some things we’re rather forget. But the gang who runs the bar in F/X’s hilarious comedy It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia takes the cake—for the last three seasons, they’ve used Paddy’s Pub as the center of operations for an increasingly absurd string of schemes that involve everything from hostage negotiations to having sex with each others’ moms (CLICK HERE to check out the cast’s Guide To Bar Etiquette).

While you wait for new season to start on Thursday, September 18th, you can catch up by copping the season 3 DVD, which drops next Tuesday (9/9). We’ve got a copy of the three-disc set to give away to one lucky fan. All you have to do to enter is email a story about your worst bar experience to contest@complex.com. The person with the best story (as selected by the Complex staff) will win the DVD set!

And if you’ve been wondering what Jeru The Damaja has been up to (so have we!), check out the “Going Back To Philly” music video below.

Rapping Weathermen Definitely Not Making It Rain

weatherman

After WorldstarHipHop laced the intarwebs with a Birmingham-area weatherman cranking dat, we realized how often local newscasters show their ass when hip-hop is involved.

Of course, dancing is one thing, but rapping’s another. Which is why we put together an all-star lineup of lyrically minded reporters and meterologists. It’s kinda like the Juice Crew, if instead of Big Daddy Kane you had an idiot savant and instead of Kool G Rap you had the Insane Clown Posse’s proctologist. Listen and learn…

Must-See TV: Locked Up Abroad

lockedupabroad-2.jpg
Unless you’re a fan of Dog Whisperer (we see you, Cesar!), you probably don’t even know that the National Geographic Channel exists. It’s time to get familiar. Our latest idiot-box obsession is NGC’s awesome original show, Locked Up Abroad, which airs Monday nights at 9 p.m…

We’re Glad The Gong Show Is Back

gong-show-title.jpg
Last night, we stumbled on an episode of the new Gong Show, a Dave Attell-hosted update of the bizarre and inexplicably popular 1970s talent show. And while we were at first skeptical of any show that makes Andy Dick a judge of anything other than how to embarrass one’s self in public, our doubts were quelled when the Vava Sisters came on.

Whether they were showing off fake stigmata, feeding each other communion wafers, or ripping each other’s skirts off, the act managed to balance blasphemy, sexiness, and a weird but effective sense of funny. And we just had to share it. Watch the Vava Sisters’ act, along with some classic clips from the original show…

Diddy’s Most Memorable Reality Moments

bitchassness_main2.jpg
He’s an undeniable camera whore, but damn if Diddy isn’t an awesome reality TV show star. Ever since 2002’s Making the Band, Diddy’s reality has provided us with a steady stream of potent quotables and hilarious hi-jinks.

His new VH1 show—I Want To Work For Diddy, which premieres tonight at 9 P.M. on VH1—promises to be no different. To prepare, we remembered Diddy’s top reality show moments below.

The Office Opens New Branch In Russia

office
Three years after the British comedy phenomenon The Office jumped across the pond to the States, it looks like your favorite collection of sad-sacks is jumping back. Early this morning, it was announced that BBC Worldwide has licensed the format to Russia’s Channel One for 24 episodes of Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant’s brainchild.

Scoff if you want—we were initially cynical about the American version too, but Greg Daniels and NBC won us over with his spot-on casting and hilarious writers. Will the Russian version continue the streak? Watch all 3 incarnations—British, American, and “Japanese”—and think about what hilarity might ensue when Sergei cooks Ivan’s stapler into a borscht-flavored gelatin mold. And let us know how it is on the other side of the Iron Curtain (that’s what she said!).

The WWE Makes Rasslin’ Family-Friendly

wwebeav1.jpg
For those of us who grew up with Hacksaw Jim Duggan and the The Ultimate Warrior, wrestling was an innocent steroid spectacle—until it went apeshit in the late ’90s as a means of getting its ratings up. Well, if the “Attitude Era” wasn’t dead already, it officially went belly-up today with the announcement that the WWE is seeking to make all its television broadcasts conform to a TV-PG rating.

Until now, shows like Raw were rated TV-14, carrying warnings for dialogue, violence and language. But after the new direction takes place, you can look forward to a sanitized version of homoerotic sweat wars. After the jump, watch some memorable examples of the “wrestling” content (R.I.P. bra and panties matches) that you’ll never see on basic cable again.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force Needs A Real Life Carl

carlathf_main.jpg
Are you a fat, hairy, crude asshole who likes to wear flip-flops and sweatpants? Aqua Teen Hunger Force want to make you a star.

The Adult Swim show is in the midst of developing the first-ever “live-action” episode (or as close to live action as you can get when your protagonists are all talking, floating fast food products), and they just announced that they will be holding an open casting call for the role of their depraved neighbor Carl. The search will begin next Saturday (July 26) at the Omni Hotel during the San Diego Comic Con, where the show’s co-creator, Dave Wills (who also voices Carl) will be on hand. Watch Carl getting wasted and cutting his nipples off after the jump.

Family Guy’s Cleveland Spinoff Is Trading Races

cleveland
It’s a well-known fact that the voice of Cleveland, the only prominant black character on Fox’s Family Guy, is done by a white guy (Mike Henry, one of the show’s writers). Well now he’ll be getting his own spin-off, The Cleveland Show, in 2009, where the character will be moving to Virginia with his new family.

And the best part (aside from the fact that Sanaa Lathan and Nia Long are both in the cast) is that the show will feature a white “redneck” neighbor who is being played by seasoned voice actor Kevin Richardson, who is (you guessed it!) a black man. White is black and black is white? WHAT WILL AMERICA THINK?! The crossing of streams brings to mind some famous race reversals of the past. Check ‘em out after the jump.

The Wire’s Creators Return With Generation Kill

gen_kill.jpgAfter filming five seasons of The Wire on Baltimore’s killing streets, David Simon and Ed Burns have a new war zone. Their latest creation, the seven-part HBO miniseries Generation Kill, follows U.S. Marines during the 2003 invasion of Iraq. The show, which premieres this Sunday at 9 p.m., is based on reporter Evan Wright’s fascinating book Generation Kill, which detailed his experiences riding with First Reconnaissance Battalion Marines during the assault.

Simultaneously hilarious and disturbing, the miniseries shows a new generation of soldier who was raised on violent video games and Internet porn and is well aware that he’s risking his life and taking other people’s lives for oil. Like The Wire, which unapologetically put B-more on blast with its realistic depiction of life in the inner city, Generation Kill is honest about the ugliest aspects of the war, from one young soldier’s misguided blood lust to the incompetence and/or career consciousness of superior officers. After years of fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq, you may be inclined to ignore another show about the conflict, but Generation Kill is a worthwhile glimpse at the madness of modern warfare. Plus, unlike the war in Iraq, the series won’t go on indefinitely. Watch the trailer below.
