Aside from irradiated reindeer and vodka, the AK-47 has been one of Russia’s most consistent exports. Since their debut back in 1947, it’s estimated that over 80 million of the highly affordable assault rifles have been assembled, making it the choice of gun for despots, dictators, and freedom fighters around the world. In some sort of artsy-fartsy concept centered around somehow disarming the AK-47 by selling paper ones, lofty artist Martin Postler designed these model construction kits. He invites crafters to cut, fold, and glue their own Kalashnikovs together, leaving them with the decision to paint, customize, or simply burn them when finished. $30, www.die-gestalten.de

Sure, firing up gun-shaped eggs at home is fun, but if you’re looking for some real firepower, you have to check out N Range’s interior/exterior shooting system. Using a steel backed target, a simple bolt conversion, and special ammo, it’s easy to turn virtually any room into an indoor shooting range. Or if it’s nice out, you can always pack up the N Range system and set it up in the backyard or shoot at a variety of “unconventional locations.” The N Range system (see video demo) is especially unique because it allows shooters to use their own guns with a special low noise (no hearing protection needed), low smoke (no harmful fumes) ammo allowing for realistic recoil and consistent practice with the firearms of your choice. Which is really important come go time. You can cop the executive model for $3,554 or settle for the no-frills standard shooting system for $1,304.
