Boost Mobile Gets KRZR

480_boost-mobile-krzr-image-resize.jpg
Boost Mobile announced that it’s adding the MOTOKRZR to its line of headsets. The razor thin phone from Motorola comes in black with a reflective finish and features a MP3 Music Player with Touch Sensor Music Controls, 1.3 Megapixel Camera with 4X Digital Zoom and Video Recorder, Bluetooth® wireless technology, GPS, Text and Multi-Media Messaging, Wireless Web and Email capabilities, Voice-Activated Dialing, MicroSD Card slot for optional upgradeable memory, Bright Color TFT Internal Display and Java enabled games and applications. The phone is available for year long contracts, or for the poorer and bad credit among you, with the pay-as-you-go service too. Bonus fact: today marks the 161st birthday of Alexander Graham Bell, the inventor of the telephone.

The One Cell Phone Kanye Can’t Get His Hands On

300_chanel_choco_phone_2.jpgNo, not cause he can’t afford it, because it’s not real. Which is a shame too, cause Kanye really seems to like it, judging by his headline:

CRAZEEEE PHONE…I POST ALOTTA PHONES BUT THIS IS THE BEST EVER

Unfortunately it’s still a concept, and in all likelihood, has no real chance of ever making it past the blogs. But let’s not rain on anyone’s parade. The Chanel Choco Phone was designed by Fred de Garilhe, and for you nerds curious about what makes this thing hypothetically tick, here:

It works by integrating an optical fiber system that display image between two glass parts. There are 12 micro lighter fibers, that throw image components to the glass, that offer a quite good luminosity, and keep the mobile phone concept as light as possible. All lights only appear when you open the phone, by pushing removable part on the side of it.

Although the design is clean and absolutely innovative, we’ll shamelessly admit to kind of liking it for the logo alone. Throw those double CC’s on pretty much anything and we’re buying.

New iPhone and iPod Released

newapple.jpg
If you were on the fence about copping a new touch sensitive iPod or iPhone cause there just wasn’t enough memory, here’s some good news. Apple announced the release of a new 16GB model iPhone ($499) and a new 32GB iPod  touch ($499). That means a hell of a lot more music, photos, and videos to consume and potentially bore the shit out of your friends with.

Our Fingers Are Crossed For Vans ‘Fracture’ Concept

vansgame.jpg
Although it’s still a concept, with a little boost from the blogs, this Vans ‘Finger Fracture’ skateboarding game could become a reality in no time. It was specifically designed to utilize the iPhone’s touch sensitive feature. Players would slide and press their fingers to control gameplay and navigate through a Vans subtly branded landscape. And although some purists will surely deride it is as more adver-gaming nonsense, as long as it’s fun and wastes times like it’s supposed to, the average iPhone using kid ain’t going to care.

Stealth Cell Sets Off Both Gold Digger And Government Radar

Mobiado Stealth
Buy a Mobiado and you might end up on a watch list somewhere inside the State Department. Well, that’s the story you can give when someone asks you where you got your phone. The company can’t sell its product inside U.S. borders and, according to their customer service reps, can’t even legally discuss the reason why. You can pick one up in Moscow, the Abu Dhabi and a collection of other shady spots. Whether Mobiado actually got slapped with an injunction or just formulated the best marketing ploy since somebody put Darth Vader on a lunch box doesn’t matter. Because now we really want to have one. Made from machined aluminum, the Stealth comes unlocked and operates on any GSM network. It’s got the standard highlights like Bluetooth, a two-megapixel camera, and a music player that supports a variety of formats from MP3 to AAC. What you really need to know is they only banged out 1,200 units and sell for the equivalent of $2,480. Now all you have to do is find one.

Japanese Manga Cellies Are Future-Perfect

mangaphones1.png
Why is Japan always getting the coolest shit? The tech heavy archipelago continues to dominate the world stage when it comes to gadgetry of any type. These newly painted, limited edition Gacchaman manga cellphones are no exception and look amazing even if you don’t follow the Japanese styled comic book subculture. In addition to the painted handsets, the phones come preloaded with icons/wallpapers based on the manga theme, and aren’t even all that expensive. There’s really only one drawback with these: they’re available in Japan only.

Space Invader Graphic Makes Bluetooth Bearable

jabra_space_invaders.jpg
If you must rock a Bluetooth headset—and refuse to wear The Control Glove—give it a little panache and at least differentiate yourself from the rest of the horde with Jabra’s BT3010 headset. It’s fully customizable via a very high tech Nike iD-like website, and provides a hell of a lot of options for such a tiny piece of plastic. Choose from a gallery of 33 designs or submit your very own, like someone must have done with this Space Invaders graphic pictured above. The custom covers can then also be swapped out in a snap, giving you an endless earful of options

Nokia Takes A Bite Out of Apple

nokia-unlock-iphone-jab.jpgNokia couldn’t have planned this ad campaign at a better time. With recent word that Apple released a new firmware for it’s godly iPhone that not only rendered the now infamous “unlock” useless—so users could opt for other networks besides AT&T—but also zapped the other 3rd party applications and “unauthorized software” that people were downloading and experimenting with. There goes all those cool ringtones, video games, and other add ons that gave iPhone users some sense of mild amusement. The posters were spotted in NYC over the weekend. As Engadget notes, this ain’t the first time Nokia pounced on the iPhone, and probably won’t be the last.
