Besides Red Stripe, reggae music, Appleton Rum and Usain Bolt, there’s another export that Jamaica can be equally proud of: women. The island nation that celebrated its 47th year of independence this past August has been minting dimes since before Bob Marley was wailing. We were going to wait for Bolt to break another record, but we learned today that he’s up for the 2009 International Association of Athletics Athlete of the Year award, so we said eff it.
