Wake N’ Watch: Kanye West x Spike Jonze ‘We Were Once A Fairytale’ Short Film
Almost a year after the album’s release, there’s a music video for nearly every song on 808s & Heartbreak (with one for “Robocop” starring Amber Rose on the way), but none are as ambitious as this 11 minute, “See You In My Nightmares”-inspired, mini-movie that debuted over the weekend.
Shot in January and premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival during the summer, We Were Once A Fairytale is the second collaboration between Kanye West and Spike Jonze (the “Flashing Lights” video was the first). This time we’re treated to same dark themes except on a grander scale. Summaries have been online for months now, so all that’s left to do is click play and let the short film begin.

I don’t know…I’m probably gonna have to watch it a 2nd time…i can tell a lot went into it. At first glance it was cool. I’ll let you know what I think when I watch it again.

this vids been getting a lot hate on the interwebs.. but you gotta put in perspective.. ‘ye’s doing all this on his own on his own dime.. and he’s putting it out for free. name 5 artists that put out quality music vids like this.
that being said.. its still a weird ass video. lol

I actually really like this short from what i grasped of the concept, Kanye West is trying to banish his inner demons and i thought Kanye was quite funny at times!

This is what i grasp….the man at the table suppose to be jay-z along with beyonce, the waitress that was just doing her job suppose to be taylor swift ye then offends her and says sorry but its 2 late his song then plays for motivation, jay-z then dismisses kanye with silence…kanye goes about being drunk and being himself for a change, the intimacy is a sigh of transfer of souls,never mind the gender(Drake)…he is then rushed to the bathroom vomiting(Pregnance)…cuts out his talent that is apart of him(demon/care bear), and not only does he takes it out(suspension) but he lets it kill itself PERMANENTLY!(expulsion)…IS KANYE RETIRING!?!?!?!?!…..NOOOOOOO
