When we had our meeting of the minds to come up with the top 100 girls of the past decade, please believe we took into account every single female that did anything of note. But we’re only human, we were bound to miss one or two or ten deserving women. So, take this list as a peace offering or sorts: let us explain why the following 10 girls didn’t meet the criteria, and fess up about a few unintentional oversights. Let us know what you think. We hope this suffices, ’cause we’re not doing this again…

KARINNE STEPHENS A.K.A. SUPERHEAD, 31
OCCUPATION: FORMER ORAL PROFESSIONAL/AUTHOR
WHY SHE DIDN’T MAKE IT: Now, we don’t have anything against hoes—we started the list with Ashley Dupree!—but Superhead is a different breed. Not only did she neck the entire rap industry (and some NBA stars), she turned around and ran her mouth about it. What happened to being a freak in the sheets and a lady in the streets? Not cool, Superhead, not cool at all.

MARIA SHARAPOVA, 22
OCCUPATION:TENNIS PLAYER
WHY SHE DIDN’T MAKE IT: We love Maria Sharapova. She’s beautiful, super fit and, at 22, has made a strong name for herself since breaking onto the scene in 2001 at the age of 14. But after a string of injuries, she hasn’t been the same. And if we had to pick a female tennis player to represent the Aughts, it had to be Serena. But hey, she’s only 22, there’s always next decade.

OCCUPATION: ACTRESS
WHY SHE DIDN’T MAKE IT: Quincy Jones’ youngest has been putting in work lately with roles in Parks and Recreation, The Office and I Love You, Man. But besides those more recent roles, she was pretty quiet through the 2000s. Still, we got nothin’ but love for ya, Rashida!

OCCUPATION: KOBE’S WIFE
WHY SHE DIDN’T MAKE IT: Yeah, she’s a little 7:30, but she’s gorgeous, two-riffic and a ride or die chick. But, alas, she’s only Kobe’s wife.

WHY SHE DIDN’T MAKE IT: Born in 1990, how old is that? Barely old enough. Hermione will make the list next decade.

OCCUPATION: ACTRESS
WHY SHE DIDN’T MAKE IT: Lucy Liu is pretty hot but, real talk, she’s the most overrated Asian actress of all time. Because she’s the only one most white American’s know, she’s continually cast as “Hot Asian Girl,” which caused us to bump her from the list. Also, we still haven’t forgiven her for Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever, which happens to be one of the worst movies of all time.

OCCUPATION: MODEL/ACTRESS
WHY SHE DIDN’T MAKE IT: Tyra Banks called her the “model of her generation,” but then she dated Terrell Owens and threw away all her cool cred. Sorry.

OCCUPATION: REALITY TV WENCH
WHY SHE DIDN’T MAKE IT: She’s undeniably sexy, but seriously, what has she done? We could only have so many talentless beauties on the list.

OCCUPATION: SONGSTRESS
WHY SHE DIDN’T MAKE IT: Baby girl dominated the ’90s with three multi-platinum albums and an endless string of hits. But sadly, she passed away right at the beginning of the 2000s. So, one of the top girl of the Aughts? Not so much. One of the top girls of all time? Absolutely.

OCCUPATION: MODEL
WHY SHE DIDN’T MAKE IT: Honestly, this was a gross oversight on our part. Our bad. How could we forget the hottest thing out of Germany since the Weiner Shnitzel? Das crazy!
