How to Dress Like Kid Cudi, Kanye & Common In The “Make Her Say” Video

Even if you didn’t click yesterday’s Wake N’ Watch video, we’re pretty sure you caught the visual for Kid Cudi’s Kanye West-and-Common-assisted “Make Her Say” at some point. Instead of amplifying the creative crassness of the song—this clip could have easily taken place in a club—the video takes the high route with a clean, cool, stylish look that falls perfectly in line with the three Complex cover dudes that star in the video.
Although Cudi, Kanye, and Common all rock under the GOOD Music tree, their individual styles, as evidenced by the video, are all distinct. And we know while watching the video you were thinking to yourself, “How could I ape one or all of these fresh looks?” Stop frontin’, it’s OK. Complex is here to help, not hate. So to save you some time on Google, we’ve put together a quick buyer’s guide inspired by the “Make Her Say” video. We can’t guarantee these ‘fits will make her say anything, but they’ll get you closer to pokin’ her face than your current get-ups. Word.

it’s good when rappers dress like grown men.
complex has been grown for a while now, finally it’s spreading
donjohnson July 23, 2009 at 4:35 pm
i could cover myself in nothing but hundred dollar bills from head to toe and still have spent less money on my outfit than the suggestions you guys make in this post.. damnnn
MissZindzi July 26, 2009 at 3:28 am
In all fairness, it’s about getting the LOOK, meaning it’s certainly acceptable to get the outfits cheaper elsewhere.
GoILL July 26, 2009 at 10:51 am
Only the watch that is super expensive.
It seems that everyone that reads the site only shops at H&M and Uniglo, good brands but really to be a stylish person you have to be able to spend a little once in a while.
@e_cheng July 27, 2009 at 3:51 am
Good post! I’m all about the uniglo. ,esp the UT store

First of all, Common is wearing a pair of dress shoes, not sneakers. Secondly, style is something that is inherent and not learned from buying guides in magazines or from stylists’ creations fround in music videos. I would hope to see more people exuding more personal style rather than imitating fashion trends. With all that being said, I do like all three of these artists.

hate to be picky but aren’t cudis pants grey not black.
chillan August 5, 2009 at 4:43 pm
for kid cudi, the pants are definitely wrong… as dope as those acne’s are, they don’t have those pocket flaps in the front like cudi’s do… i’m just wondering if Kanye’s actually wearing Ransom’s in the vid… but Kid Cudi was definitely rocking the Ransom bomber for his Complex cover
