Wake N’ Watch: Slaughterhouse “The One”

Remember the summer of 2007’s #2 pop smash “Party Like A Rockstar” by Atlanta rap group Shop Boyz? The new single by hip-hop’s underdog supergroup Slaughterhouse—comprised of major label refugees Joe Budden, Royce Da 5′9″, Crooked I, and Joell Ortiz—is nothing at all like that. Nah. This shit is lyrical, B! Fuck a ringtone!

Sidenote: someone needs to tell Royce that listening to Nickelback isn’t ironic…it’s just t-t-totally lame!

Damn shame, good concept poor execution, seems like a bunch of old hyped up rappers from 5yrs ago trying to make a comeback. The duel flow via Ortiz and Budden ain’t half bad. Beats whack, girls are whack, video story board is whack, the flows are tired.

The best Royce can do now is parallel Nickelback -to- a nickelbag[?]

      Crooked I gained like a 100lbs.

The only plus was Tahiry at the end, and we don’t even get any of her, yep this vid sucks. I enjoyed Tahiry’s and Buddens vids on itsthereal.com 100x more lol.

listen man, so sick of people not understand the conecept of songs! This is hilarious that this site says it’s not like party like a rockstar cuz it’s lyrical…and then you have a sidenote about Royce’s line with nickelback…for you ignorant people out there, Royce’s nickname is NICKEL NINE, so when he says “isn’t it ironic that I’m listening to Nickelback (I’m back).” I really shouldn’t have to explain the punchline anymore.. Nickelback= Nickel’s Back= Royce da 5′9 is back. it’s common sense. BOO at the makers of the page for not realizing it’s more lyrical than they thought.

And everyone is supposed to be a Royce groupie like you? Haha. Come on now. I like this joint, and I like these cats for what they do, but you’re just pushing it, B.

you don’t have to be a fan to understand a punchline, fucking idiot.

Love the lyrics and the hook but the beat not so much. That doesn’t take away from the fact that these guys have hella potential on the mic. I look forward to hearing more traditional underground hip hop from them.
