What I find amazing about all the stink about two dumb, black robots is the lack awareness about how the actual black (human) characters are protraying in both Transformers movies. They yell at and threaten their mothers and grandmothers, they turn on their friends under pressure, they try to dupe their customers. OR they are the big-gun sidekicks (trusted to kick ass, basically). Jazz (the original black transformer) is killed off without much ceremony and Tyrese Gibson’s character (what’s his name, by the way?) just exists to support the Cap’n hero.

To be honest, while I can sort of see where the complaints are coming from, I do think they’re kind of misplaced. The fact that Tom Kenny voices them should be a clue.

To me, they come off not as stereotypical black gangstas, but as white hicks who fancy themselves as such, but haven’t quite got it right. Given that the first movie pointed out that the Autobots learned most of what they know of Earth culture through our electronic media, I can see how they might have misunderstood.

Actually, I think Skids and Mudflap are among the least insulting thing in the film…

No it was not racist. A C level movie sure but not racist. First let’s go with the known the autobots are all clowns in the movie. These two happen to be the comic relief. Let’s not forget they can’t read either then again no character in the whole transformers universe can read that language accept for like 13 people. The problem is much deeper than two robots in a good movie. Most white people really believe that blacks act just like the robots. This is why our unemployment rate is at 15%. tea okay the “really” guy needs yp look at the post people his titled matters and matters I completely agree with you the Irish when the came in they had a hard life but thier families were not ripped apart and werent allowed to attempt to make a living the Irish were still able to make money and become respectable like they are now thats why they have adcanced in society yet a large amount of black people have not… and not only that blacks have had to keep struggling against intensive racsim into the 60’s and 70’s that wasnt that long ago.. no wonder they’re poorer they havent gotten any chance in generations to start to build old money which is what most white people are born into and as much as i hate to say it money MATTERS… alot in this world you dont have it and life will be woeful
