Friday Faceoff: SlamxHype & Complex Debate The 5 Best Spring 2009 Clothing Lines

Each week in the Friday Faceoff, the editors of Complex will have an open debate with one of the other websites in the Complex Media Network on a timely topic. We encourage everyone to chime in with comments about our choices, whether you agree or disagree. Don’t worry, we can take a sneak-diss or two.
Last week, we hit up our homies at OnSMASH and got into a tough debate about Eminem’s best videos. This week, we’re stepping back into the streetwear/fashion arena for a back-and-forth with our brothers from Slamxhype.com to point out our five favorite Spring/Summer collections. Read on to see who made the cut, and what labels you should be up on for the new season…

SLAMXHYPE #5 PICK: ACRONYM
Slamxhype Says: Errolson Hugh’s high tech outerwear brand is possibly one of the most influential brands in the world today. It’s brought back an interest in technical function and quality. Whether it’s winter or summer, Acronym’s Outerwear is bar none, the best in every aspect. If it’s too hot for a jacket this season, the accessories and technical bags from this collection are unbeatable too.
Complex says: This was a good pick, in the technical “arena” Acronym is high up on our list as well. The cool-guy who’s into technical clothing is wearing this in the states.
Complex Says: This collection is for a style-forward guy. It’s a little risky but it’s still masculine. If you’re comfortable in your skin and are willing to branch out, get up on them. Think classic pieces like Polo and Ralph Lauren Black Label , and stepping it up a notch.
Slamxhype Says: Every season Bblessing do some of the best shirts and jackets, this season is no different, the woodsman shirt and trench coat are amazing. My only dislike is the tees, a little hipster for me.
