• Originally from Minneapolis, St. Cyr was probably destined for a career in soft porn from the moment her parents named her Willis Marie Van Schaack. After settling in Montreal in the ’50s, she was targeted by the local Catholic Church who claimed that wherever she danced, “the theater is made to stink with the foul odor of sexual frenzy.” Which is, unfortunately, an improvement on the stink at a couple strip clubs we’ve been to.
