5 Ways Dame Dash Can Get His Swag Back
The New York Daily News reported this morning that the big homie Dame Dash is feeling a Joe-the-Plumber-style crunch these days (their words were “MC Hammer-like financial abyss”). According to the News, Dame’s had a couple of his condos foreclosed and even had his Tahoe repoed.
Still, it’s not hard to envision a comeback in Dame’s near future. First and foremost, dude’s rolling with Jim Jones these days, and last but not least, dude’s got a track record that’s solid as a rock (certainly more solid than the Roc). With that in mind, Complex has a five-step plan to resurrect the Double D…
1. STICK WITH JONES
It would’ve sounded crazy a couple years ago, but fuck it, it’s true: Jim’s the most relevant NYC rapper in the game right now.
2. STAY AWAY FROM BAD PRODUCT INVESTMENTS
No America magazine, definitely no PRO-Keds, and please, for the love of Zune, no RocBox. Ever.
3. FILM A REALITY SHOW WITH YOUR WIFE
Not for nothing (and with all due respect, etc.), but your wife is kinda fine. Maybe try something like a Ultimate Hustler/Nanny 911 mashup (and let Rachel pick your clothes).
4. FOLLOW YOUR OWN ADVICE
Teamwork, diversify your chain of command, rinse and repeat.
5. GET BACK WITH HOV
Either that or make another one. Come to think of it, the latter may be easier (see step #1).

Is Jim Jones really the most relevant NYC rapper? I’m not sold on that one. All the other points are true, besides the last one. I think for him and Jay-Z to get back together there would have to be communication, real communication. I don’t think that was there before, or atleast it faded after time.
His wife is banging though. He need to take that fake smile off his face.
Once he realizes what he has, he’ll be able to make better choices.

Jay-Z and Nas are arguably above and beyond from being on the same level as Capo, but Jones is about as entertaining as any rapper on Tier 2 and below. im still not sold on the ‘most relevant’ title though.
Jim’s true strength is his charisma and appeal. it’s the same reason why dudes like T.Trick and U.Murda will never become stars, as much as how ‘real’ and ‘hood’ they are. they just dont have the personality and swagger that makes them a viable entertainer like Jones.
Fab is on about the same level as J.Jones. Maino joins Max B in the hiphop lobby.

The Jim Jones thing is coming to fruition, hanging with Jim has him doing extra things that no rapper has ever been able to do, first his Swagger is impeccable, people want to be like him, be him and ladies want to be with and hump him it is that simple, he has the hottest song on the radio, again, he let his album become a play, he is making moves in hollywood and people really like him.

Pro Keds was a money maker, they took the license back, because it made money, the clothing lines after Rocawear where not smart, but State Property had traction in the hood, but it couldn’t work out with Beans, cause he wanted to be his own guy, than realized it was not going to happen, and finally went back home to Hov, and we know how that turned out, the Roc Box could of been good if it had a smaller price point, American Magazine did not work out because their was no passion on making it work, he should of followed his advice in that video and keep the best people but make it more accessible. http://www.BlockSavvy.com is the best of social networks, the technology and the look of the site is incredible
