Southern hospitality isn’t just limited to the good relationships rappers in the “A” have with each other. It crosses genres, especially with Ben Allen (producer of Gnarls Barkely’s first LP) lending his musical direction to the forthcoming debut of ATLiens Gringo Star. We had our eyes peeled for a possible Cee-Lo cameo at their CMJ showcase at Delancy Lounge (NYC), but to no avail. Still, one of the band’s strong points is their power in numbers which is translated into their thick sound where all the members appear to be equals'even the vocalist. In person, their chemistry is clear in how they all rotate instruments (guitar, drums, bass, tambourine) as they change songs. Check for their new album dropping November 4th.
