Izzy Grimey Wins The Emerging Artists Challenge
Who’s got next in the rap game? According to your votes, Newark, NJ’s own Izzy Grimey has a bright future. As the winner of Complex and OnSmash’s Emerging Artists Challenge, from which he was selected out of 10 tough finalists, Izzy got the chance to film a music video with DanTheMan, one of our favorite directors who is known for shooting bangers like Prodigy’s “Mac 10 Handle” and Maino’s “Hi Hater.”
When it came time to shoot the video for his New Jersey anthem “Brick City Is Back,” Izzy teamed up with Dan to capture the raw essence of his hometown 'hood, a city that hasn’t been a major focus in hip-hop since Redman’s heyday.
