Japanese Pekoppa Plant Is A Good Listener

In addition to the standard water, soil and sunlight, horticulturists have long claimed that talking to your plants is key to promoting healthy growth. Scientists are still arguing about whether or not it actually works, so for now Sega Toys has created a plant that nods like it’s interested when you speak.
The plastic plant, known as Pekoppa, is Japan’s latest experiment with artificial intelligence—the technology detects patterns and rhythms in human speech and bends the stem to a nod or bow. The green companion hit stores this week, at an affordable price of $15.65 on Amazon Japan.
