The Worst Sneaker Ripoffs Seen At MAGIC

Nas said it best: “No idea’s original, there’s nothing new under the sun.” But when we hit the upstairs portion of MAGIC in Vegas last week to browse sneaker brands on the come-up and potentially find a diamond in the rough (didn’t happen), we saw an obnoxious amount of biting going on.
All the majors—Nike, adidas, Creative Recreation and the newly-popular Supra—fell victim to indie brands jockin’ their fresh. To show what goes on in the underworld of sneaker culture, we compiled the silhouettes that were most flagrantly bitten. Shit’s despicable.

LOL! Great feature…but how can you call anyone out for biting Bape?

I agree with slim. All of Bape’s sneakers are ripoffs of other sneakers, wether it’s a ripoff of the AF1 or the AM90, all bape sneakers suck.

Troop is kind of a real brand. The shoe is definatley air force 1-esque but its not nearly as bad as other air force 1 rip offs and troop has been around since the 90s.

oh and that creative rec shoe is rediculously close to the puma sky hi so…. A rip off of a rip off doesn’t count to me.
Comment by brentk — September 2, 2008 #
Keep having more to say lol.. Last one looks like a dunk rip off to me. Oh and the one you said ripped off the roadsta… It really is more of a cross between an af1 and a dunk than the roadsta. Even if it was a bape rip off, I dont care about rip offs of rip offs.
Comment by brentk — September 2, 2008 #
AF1 was a rip off of a Reebok shoe anyway. The lines on this thing are completely unoriginal, but not derivative of any one shoe.

Just another hater please move along.
Comment by LTN — September 3, 2008 #
Yeah, why you knocking Troop? They were dropping shoes in the 80s! Sneaker Freaker featured them last month. Homework, son!
Comment by anj — September 3, 2008 #
as whack as the troops are, they had that style out in the mid 80’s along with a leather jacket. looks like adidas, but if im correct this bite was done over 20 years old
Comment by Big Cook — September 3, 2008 #
hmmm,im thinking you cant diss the Troop joints they been around b4 the 90,the slick seris, lambo, hmmm cant think of the rest but troop shouldnt be lumped in with those othe Low-budget joints..

What reebok shoe did the air force 1 come from? I have never seen any reebok shoe in my life with a midosle/sole like the air force 1. Back then paneling could end up being similar, but there were always at least slight differences in the design.
Seriously, name a shoe the air force 1 came from by reebok, if that is real I’m very interested to see it. If it’s not, stop making false claims.

all i can really add to these comments is that all these shoes suck (minus troop, O.G.s til death). All them shits look like they would fall apart after a day of wear anyways…
