John Edwards found that out late last week when the National Inquirer ran a report about his affair, forcing him to own up to it on Friday. Brooke was the first elected black U.S senator, and he was described by Walters as being “exciting” and “brilliant.” Brooke (who was married at the time of the affair) refused to comment on the situation, saying he doesn’t talk about his or other people’s private lives.
