When Soundtrack Collabos Get Weird

Blue-eyed blues-rock demigod Jack White and sexiest woman alive Alicia Keys (yeah, we said it—check the resume) might not exactly be musical peas in a pod, but they both possess ridiculous quantities of talent. And now they’re teaming up to pen and perform the theme song to November’s Quantum of Solace, the newest James Bond jammy.
It won’t be the first time that strange bedfellows have teamed up for a soundtrack. There have been surprising mash-ups in the past like Roni Size hooking up with Cypress Hill, and even a Fat Boys x Freddy Kruegar rap banger atrocity. With the Keys/White collabo on its way, we’ve rounded up some prime examples, arranged in order of increasing bizarreness. Dig in the crates with us after the jiddump, chiddumps.
Faith No More & Boo Yaa T.R.I.B.E., “Another Body Murdered” (from Judgment Night)
Roni Size & Cypress Hill, “Child of the Wild West” (from Blade 2)
Afrika Bambaataa and John Lydon, “World Destruction” (from The Breakfast Club)
Fat Boys and Freddy Krueger, “Are You Ready For Freddy” (from Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master)
Fishbone and Annette Funicello, “Jamaican Ska” (from Back to the Beach)
